Then the Tarrans and Sam Watts can finally come good on their annual pledge to retire!!!
l thought the reason they did the area out the front of there rooms was so Sam could just roll down in his wheel chair, as for Joey in rook years he is only about 12 easily got another 25 years in Agrade

apart from sam the tarran's ain't that old specially joey, only 35 odd i think. Would say there are alot of players around older than that. Why retire too when your blitzing the comp. 5-10 off 7 overs on the weekend and made a s h i t load of runs.

the Rook hitting form at the right time Joey reckons, I reckon ya's have peaked far too soon . . . . . time will tell

Settle down Jazzman, that was just a little jibe because they have been saying for about 3 years that they are just going to have "one more year together". 'Twas the reason Jason went back to the Rook but what was supposed to be their swansong turned out to be a disaster for the Rookers, who didn't even make the finals.

Just wondering if the SDCA will still be sending a team to Melbourne Country Week in Warrnambool this year? Anyone shed any light on the subject?

Yer Jazzy its a bit tounge in cheek l played alot of cricket against them both and lm sure they would see the funny side

The Rook, we accounted for Eastern Hill on the weekend, without two opening bowlers in Irving and Dundon, A.Howard had to open the bowling for christs sake. We are hitting form at the right time of the year winning 4 of our last 5 matches i think and have been close in all the rest, with a bit of luck we mite just keep this run of good form going into the finals, and hopefully make it a successful campaign

I have heard rumours that he bowled with extreme pace, and had the batsmen bamboozled....looks like Dundon will have to bowl first change after christmas when hes back...its tough being an allrounder now...:D

SDCA Draw for Bendigo Country Week

Monday 15/1: Seymour V Emu Valley at Colbinabbin

Tuesday: Seymour V Campaspe at Elmore

Wednesday: Seymour v Deniliquin at Golden Square

Thursday: Seymour V Gisborne at Colbinabbin

Friday Final is at Strathdale

You lads will have a bit of travelling, however I can assure you that Elmore and Colbo are the only two grounds that are nice and green at the moment. Golden Square is currently a dustbowl. If you make the final you will play on the postage stamp at strathdale which is one of two grounds in bendigo that are green.

I thought you blokes were coming to Swan Hill for Country Week. What Divvy are you in?

Div 1 apparently is out...but i saw the draw which has all div's playing in Bendigo.

Hey Roota, you should play for the mighty SDCA. Started Div 4 3 years ago...Div 2 now, the addition to you to what i hear is going to be a pretty competitive squad and the mour could be in div 1 in 2008...

when are you heading down this way?

Why we are all having cracks at U21 sides ill give it a go
1.S Donovan (only turned 21 this year)
2. J Pollock (opens bat at quality club)
3. S Kelly (same rules apply as Joey
4. N. Allum (no matter how unfit he is)
5. X Youngman (c)
6. D Bregowicz
7. T Hede
8. J Smith Williams
9. A Walsh
10. L Watts
11 A Dundon
12. K Hippsley (is playing A grade at Broadford and not going to bad

Unfortunately could not squeeze Mulraney from Royals in as he happends to be 25.(Possible Coach)

I'll have a stab at a quick side based on what Ive witnessed first hand prior to Xmas and reading names that are apparently 21 or under

1. S. Donovan (Avenel)
2. J. Wheeler (Avenel)
3. J. Smith-Williams (Eastern Hill)
4. L. Watts (Tallarook)
5. X.Youngman (Seymour)
6. T. Hede (Kilmore)
7. A. Walsh (Yea)
8. D. Bergowicz (Eastern Hill)
9. N. Allum (Seymour)
10. A. Dundon (Tallarook)
11. J. Green (Avenel)
12. A. Miller (Yea)

Zubby can be my skipper, his hands are handy enough and he keeps as good as anyone in the comp these days so he can be my keeper too. Kyle Hippisley and Lee Irving aint played enough A-grade cricket yet for me to judge.

I cant wait to have another Seymour game to see Nathan Allum head down bum up for a lenghty spell. Have seen him 4-5 times over the past 2 years and he's yet to string more than 4-5 together in any one spell. Has ability yes but tries to do something different every ball of the over.

Guess we've all been young and keen but once he understands the art of hitting a spot like brother Shannon I reckon his bowling will improve greatly and Seymour will be in a good spot should they retain the duo's services.

Hey silver Tomkins must be doing something right to have played 5-6 games of District two's to Xmas when the current A-grade standard up here at present is equivilant of about District 3rds. Lets be honest there's a lot of guys running around in the A's these days that woulda been just B-graders 3-4 years back.

There's some talented kids like Dave in the comp, let's encourage them to head south learn the game and then come home and help get our comp back up to where it was.

Guys like Matt O'Sullivan, Richard Martin, Trav Blackwell have all done it, Stuie Peterson has had a taste, no doubt Subba will be good for the Rook down the track, and we hope blokes like Lachie Peterson, Robbie Inness, and Dave Tomkins can all do the same for the future of the SDCA.

Who plays who after the Xmas break this weekend, I know Broady welcomes Nicho's Tigers to Harley Hammond. With two premiership heroes in Trav Blackwell and Clinton Bruce available for the rest of the season Im tipping the mighty red and black's to be right there in the premiership race

The wiz is back Broady and Avenel to play off in big one

Played off the season before last didnt they? With those couple of big ins, all they need now is for Mitchie Collier to find some form with his leggies to add some variety to the bowling attack and ya just never know

Here is a question who is or was the best spinner in the SDCA

the rook play avenel after the break to sure up a spot in the one day final!

Just wondering if the SDCA will still be sending a team to Melbourne Country Week in Warrnambool this year? Anyone shed any light on the subject?

They will be, but it seems that Bendigo CW is a little more appealing to the players of the SDCA being a little closer to home.

Word is Trav Blackwell is a good chance of playing Bendigo, with the champ to take the reigns as skipper. His team mate in Robbie Douglas will join him for the week.

Zubby and Stu peterson from seymour, Shaun Pearce from avenel has expressed interest in playing apparently, Jac Smith-Williams from the Hill will also venture across. And finally mick enrico is trying to get across.

Joey Tarran has a back injury which could prevent him from going. But if all mentioned above can get there for the full week, the SDCA may press for the final, which would mean Div 1 the year after doesn't it?

Just thought i would have a crack at this u/21 side also having just found my way towards this site,
1. J.Wheeler 2. S.Donovan (c) 3. L.Watts 4. X.Youngman 5. J.Smith Williams 6. M.Winter Irving (vc) 7. A.Walsh 8. N.Allum 9. A. Dundon 10. D.Bergowicz 11. A.Miller

haha m winter irving vice captain, dream on kids about 15, n you would find 10 other players better than him imo! i also date rate J Wheeler at all, kids never made runs even in the jnr days!

A good win by the rook over avenel on the weekend. Get's them a spot in the one day final against seymour. Were in trouble early at 6/41 but an unbeaten 58 from young gun dave martin helped the rook post a respectable 8/141. Avenel dismissed then for 105 with the old club champ sam watts the pick of the bowlers with 3/24.
the rook also unearthed another arrow to their bow with the bigshow taking the gloves and doing a more than respectable job behind the stumps!!

An interesting day at Harley Hammond Reserve saw Broadford escape with a 2 wicket win over a gallant Yea Tigers. Some good cricket played, a rain delay and 2 players breaking down made the day interesting, as did the below standard fielding with both sides putting down 4-5 soda's.

Batting first Yea got 159 with opener James Clavarino unbeaten on 70, Joel Dunn got 22. Wickets shared around Chippa Douglas 3 (3 catches also), Trav Blackwell, Mark Carboon and Mitch Collier 2 each.

Broadford were cruising at 5/112 after 21.2 overs, before rain fell on the drinks break and halted play for about 50 minutes. A revised 33 over maximum made the final 40 minutes interesting with Broadford getting home with 3 balls to spare. Alwin Neilson got 35, Billy Neilson 25, Trav Blackwell 22 not out. Craig Manning took 3/8 from 3.2 before tearing a hammy badly in what may have been the difference.

Kilmore rolled Royals to make it 3 wins outa their past 4 outings I think. Going on what I was told this morning so if someone was at the game please fill the gaps.

Royals got about 160 with Leigh Wyatt making 40 odd, bowling honours shared although I know Jim Gallagher got 2/12 from 6 overs. Kilmore's run chase was successful with about 10 overs up their sleeve, Robbo's purple patch continued with 40 odd, Justin Colliss and Marcus Davern contributing also.

Dont know which of the Sanchez brothers it was from Yea( Doona may know) but ******** they could spin a ball.
Constant 3 to 7 wickets each week.
Kyle Redenbach use to be quite handy to.
These days I can barely think of a spin bowler so could not help with best in the league.
Would Joey Pollocks 80kmh bullets count
