C Grade
Kilmore 167 d Yea 2 132
Kilmore looked home after the 6th sover with yea 3-3 and then 6-30 but late order hitting got them within 50 or so only 8 down. i think the number 10 made 45.

This win brings the 7 premiership to Ray Cowell. Someone told me that when captaining in a grand final he has never lost.

Thanks for that Matty.
Re the A Grade, there'd be no better way to win a flag than that.
Winning Grannies is always better in the field and would be especially sweet if you're defending a piddly total.

leggo man,

i think your wrong and Nagambie will give Hills an absolute flogging...

rook

I'll was on the money with this tip......

As for the Rook......Too many oldies and to many passengers....take Joey Tarran out of that side and they wouldn't make the finals

Rook

quite an amazing scoreline in that A-grade game. Was the wicket afftected by the rain we had last friday evening?

3/50 chasing 100 and all out for 89..... You woulda thought the 'rook's experienced heads would get them over the line.

another loss for tallarook in a final. sad to see but the team has performed extremely well all season. with some aging players and new talent mix in the team is quite strong physically and mentally. next yr will be the year for the tallarook cricket club. stronger than ever.

Can we stop all this Royals bashing lads its getting rather tiring. Royals CC had a committee meeting last night and no links with Nagambie were discussed.

I reckon it would b better if Nagambie stepped back up to A-grade competition in 2007/08 and had a red hot crack.

Would be good if they did doona but don't seriously think they could be competitive unless they got some recruits from somewhere!!

Where to from here for the Royals? looks like they are losing Enrico and Lawler and their gun opening bat Mark Pointon is heading to WA i hear. How will they survive??:(

It might be time for Royals to look outside there club for a leader, someone new with fresh ideas and someone who will not put up with the crap that has happend there this season.
It doesnt have to be a older bloke either maybe someone who you will get 5 odd years from, just a thought boys.

Stole me thunder Jase, all Bennett Oval needs is a couple of experienced players to want to play there. Capuano and Pollock could be the start of it, young guys who have played A-grade cricket and more importantly good enough to compete at A-grade level. All of a sudden your list gets stronger and guys want to be part of it. You cant tell me a list containing Mulraney, Enrico, Lawler, Wyatt couldnt be built around with another opening bowler (Capuano) and a middle order bat who bowls a bit (Pollock).

Has someone tried contacting say a club legend like Glenn Cole to get back involved? Not to play but a figurehead who could have a real positive influence. I know G aint around a lot but if his time could be gotten even say 4-5 times next season Im sure the Royals CC would be better for it.

What Im saying is that if Lawler and Enrico did stay and an experience A-grader or two joined the mix then things would turn around all of a sudden.

What's wrong with Pollock and Capuano staying at Tallarook Doona?
Why not send a couple of blokes from Broadford to cure the Royals woes. Maybe Carby would be interested.

I was speaking as a hypothetical - Im sure both Clint and Joey are staying was just using them as a reference being Pyalong boys and not born and bred at their A-grade club. Maybe even say a Blacky from Pucka or some of these Nagambie young guns we heard of last week was what I was getting at.

Why even mention Carby's name, now I know you're not taking this topic serious  If something unthinkable ever happened to my club Id have little hesitation in going to another SDCA club if I thought I could make a positive influence to both the club and the comp.

Just read your post again Doon and have to say that it doesn't sound hypothetical as much as it does specific. You seem intent on Joe Pollock leaving the Rook and now you've got Clint going with him. ( Couldn't the royals find a spot for maybe Leigh Irving, Lachy Watts, Grant Hateley and Dave Martin? LOL). I'm sure, as you said that if something unthinkable happened at your club you wouldn't hesitate to move on ( Jump ship. LOL), but this isn't the case at Tallarook and so I don't see why you keep trying to get Boonie to Royals.
As for the Carby thing, just speaking hypotheticaly of course Doona;)

hey doona iv have been talking with a couple of people this week and they seem to think you could be right about pollock and capuano leaving the rooks and looking for a new home somewhere else next year maybe they will join the royals should be good for the young kids

heard there were some tears flowing after the loss in avenel sunday, surely this will motivate the guys from the rook a grade to go one better next year. As for pollock and capuano, surely they will stay at the rook and not go to a club like royals. No one would wanna play for a side who loses every week!! Doesn't say much for the 2 of them if they leave after a few veterens gave their all this yr and really were gutted. They should stay and help the rook to an elusive flag to send the veterens off on the right foot!

Just a question - was there any other young blokes that could have or should have played for Tallarook in the granny instead of cricket and sammy
This question is coming from someone who had the call made on them to be left out after playing every game, was l happy s.h.i.t no but did it benefit the club HELL YES eg Grant Hateley instead of cricket

A fair question but the short answer is that I reckon the Tallarook selectors got it pretty well spot on. Of course there are other young blokes at the club and no doubt you will see more of them in the years ahead, but for this game on this weekend I'd say that they picked the best available side. For the record Grant Hateley did play as did Lachlan Watts, Andrew Dundon and Clint Capuano all of whom are under 22 yrs and of course Leigh Irving and David Martin who are both under 16's would have played had they been available, in which case I'd guess that Sam and Cricket would have missed out. The only other young fellas to have any legitimate claims for a spot were Joe Pollock (12th man), James Bruce and Travis Muir, none of whom in my opinion did enough to warrant serious consideration for a grand final berth, however all of whom I'd expect to be regular A graders next year and beyond. When you add Adam Howard to that list you have 10 guys all under 30yrs of age that should carry the hopes of the Rooks into the years ahead. It's just my biased opinion but I'd say that our junior development is working pretty well and I for one think that the future of our club looks pretty bright.
As an aside for those who are partial to a bit of nostalgia it was fantastic to see two Father/Son combinations represent theTCC in the A Grade Grand Final last weekend, I speak of course of Geoff and Grant Hateley and Sam and Lachlan Watts. I wander if any of the historians know if this is a first or has it been done before?

Sounds good lego was unable to get to game didnt now Rooks full side but sounds like things are fine on the father son combo you would struggle to find two espacially in Agrade wouldnt have happend at Avenel

Surely Sammy Watts would be close to 50 and Geoff Hateley past that mark these days? Whats goin on in the Seymour comp if these two relics are still running around in A grade?

Look mate I got a lot of time for Joey and I just wanna see him happy with his sport. In all seriousness I was rapt for the kid to hear he at least got to field all them overs whilst Cricket was off the field, IMO that may have got him over the line for another season.

Its not an intent, and I think you know that they'll play together no matter what happens. Forget Joey anyways, I reckon most clubs should be focussing their attention on Big Dundon after I overheard being labelled "trade bait" by a few of the Rook hierachy during day one of the semi down home.
