You got involved with my return match last season; then I didn’t get my revenge last season due to injury.

Now I’m back, I’m healthy and I’m going to send you back into retirement old man. No more jet ridin’, no more high flying’, you son of a gun— you’ll wish you were retired.
I will open a can of whoop a** on you woooo

The Season 38 SFAEW Awards

Look, I'm running late, let's just kick off with our first award:

Rookie of the Season

Here are the nominees:

Raz

The hard hitting, constantly trash talking ex-Swamprat made his debut like many other recent entrants into SFAEW: by squashing Ocha905. Still, Raz went on to have a solid debut season, culminating with a standout performance in the ClarkeMoney in the Bank match.

DemurePrincess

Another recent Bomber acquisition, Prinny found herself in the Hardcore Title scene for most of her debut run, before teaming with Wosh. Then they promptly fell out and started fighting. Somehow, it culminated with Prinny winning on her SweetaMania debut.

BigChippa52

Or, as serial_thrilla might say, who?

...Alright, I'll keep going. Chippa was a fundamental part of the Enforcement storyline, and he capped off his rookie run by triumphing over Thrilla in an I Quit match, and pushed Bonz to the limit at SweetaMania.

Tarkyn_24

Yes, everyone's favourite goalkicking machine made his SFAEW debut at SweetaMania, albiet in a losing effort.

omgfridge

The Bang Bang Furie Gang recruited wisely by picking up Fridge as a rookie heading into Season 38. He faced down Chipmunk for the IC Title (unsuccessfully), and he picked up a Trios title run too.

ClarkeM

Not strictly a Season 38 debutant, but it was slim pickings for rookies this go around.

Our second award is:

Swerve of the Season

This one goes to the biggest plot twist of Season 38.

Here are the nominations:

por_please_ya joins Il Famiglia

A SweetaMania swerve! After considering a cyptic offer from MWPP and Dingster, Porps sold her soul to the dark side. She battered Loonerty with a chair in front of her handcuffed tag partner Callums_Guns in the shocking conclusion to their SweetaMania trios match.

The Enforcement are unmasked during the Magnificent Seven Match

After terrorising the SFAEW locker room under masked faces, ClarkeM's squad of ne'er-do-wells got their comeuppance as everyone they'd pissed off came back to expose their real identities.

Gralin, thewizardmelon, Falconista, BigChippa52 and Supersuns were all brought to light as Clarkey's brutes, but the best unmasking went to HARPSichord, as his ex-Musical Ratatouille teammate damicky brutalised him in revenge for a series of attacks.

The Masked Biker is revealed to be Senor M

There was bit of a theme around unmasking going on last season, wasn't there?

A masked biker showed up to kidnap Millky95 in order to torment Il Famiglia. The biker wouldn't show up again until the conclusion of the World Title match between tony and cooney, costing the latter an almost certain win. After immediately betraying Il Capo, Senor M took off the helmet to face the man that had dethroned him for the Championship.

James Colorado defies Frothies Mcveigh

After taking weeks upon weeks of Frothies' unhinged behaviour, JC had finally had enough.

Siding with ShaunDuggan, JC denied his leader a weapon, handing some brass knuckles over to Duggan, costing Froth his IC title.

Loonerty foils Frothies Mcveigh's cash-in

Self-explanatory. I'm tired, and I want to get this ceremony over with asap.

And the winner is...

The Enforcement getting unmasked!

That's honestly an upset. I was expecting Porps or JC to win that one.

Thirdly:

Feud of the Season

This one goes to the best long-term storyline from Season 38.

Here are the nominees:

serial_thrilla vs BigChippa52

Who are you again? That was a recurring question thrown about during Chippa's aggressively unrelenting quest to gain acknowledgement from SFAEW veteran serial_thrilla. The feud went from a Chain Match, to multiple Tag Team Champioship bouts, to a climactic "I Quit" Match to cap off the home and away season.

damicky vs HARPSichord

The breakup of Musical Ratatouille spilled over into Season 38 in increasingly violent fashion. HARPS and The Cheese did their damndest to put each other on the bench with escalating attacks, climaxing in a brutal Hell in a Cell encounter.

Senor M vs cooney

Senor M's return complicated C-Dog's quest for the World Title, and the subsequent fallout of M's revenge match with tony muddied it up even more.

Consequently, both men cost each other spots in the ClarkeMoney in the Bank match, before finally facing off in an injury derailed SweetaMania showdown. Wooo.

okeydoke7 vs The Filth Wizard

Frustrated at his "kindness" going unrewarded despite his persistence, Filthy started taking note of okey's soaring popularity. Weeks of observatiion and ego jostling finally gave way to okey and Filthy's best match all season at SweetaMania.

PhenomenalV1 vs ClarkeM

With the future of SFAEW at stake, the Commissioner fought the man who'd set up his own private force to police the league.

Frothies Mcveigh vs Shaun Freakin' Duggan

Tensions that bubbled under all season finally surfaced at the weeks dragged on. Frothie's increasingly unhinged behaviour not only alienated James Colorado from him, but also dragged fellow Furie Shaun Freakin' Duggan into his orbit. Eventually, it all exploded at SweetaMania...and not everything remained in tact after the match.

And the winner is...

Fourthly:

Tag Team of the Season

Self-explanatory.

Here are the nominees:

The Wig Factory

Despite being stripped of the Tag Titles during ClarkeM's reign of terror, Elton Johns Wig and TheInjuryFactory made up for lost time with a Trios title run, and teaming up to help Elton pick up the World Title in the climactic moments of the season.

Hold Me, _Thrilla Me

After having spent two seasons apart, serial_thrilla and TRUMAN#1 finally reunited, albiet reluctantly at first. Together, they overcame whatever was left of the bad blood between them, and they're currently enjoying their second run as Tag Champs.

Holy Matrimony

After spending some time on break, Tigerturbulance and Mrs Turbo hit the Tag Title scene hard in the latter half of the season, pummelling anyone in their way en route to becoming the first married couple to main event a night of SweetaMania.

Musical Root Beer

The premier tag team of The Enforcement, BigChippa52 and HARPSichord ran riot through the Tag division all through Season 38.

Il Famiglia

Specifically, Dingster and MWPP. They claimed the vacant Tag Titles in a violent TLC match, and managed to secure the Trios Titles on New Year's. Excellent stuff.

And the winners are...

Fifthly:

Match of the Season

This one goes to the most acclaimed match of Season 38.

Here are the nominees:

damicky vs HARPSichord, Hell in a Cell

The climax of the Musical Ratatouille breakup, damicky and HARPSichord went to war inside the cell. Barbed wire boards, steel chairs, light tubes, broken glass...it had all the makings of a classic brawl.

tony vs Elton Johns Wig, SweetaMania World Championship Match

Oh sure, it's a blatant rip off of Reigns vs Rhodes II, but what spectacle!

Season 38 reached its climax as all of Elton's friends (and Callums_Guns) came down to ringside to counter-act all of tony's Famiglia. Elton winning the big one was the glace cherry on top of the sundae.

Dingster and MWPP vs serial_thrilla and TRUMAN#1, with BigChippa52 as the Guest Ref

Yes, the big Tag Title bout halfway through the season.

This was the pinnacle of Hold Me , _Thrila Me's redemption arc, facing off with the team that beat them for the titles, with Thrilla's anonymous nemesis serving as the biggest obstacle to victory.

But at the end of the day...I mean, it's a wrestling match. Of course the baddies are going to lose.

Frothies Mcveigh vs Shaun Freakin' Duggan, SweetaMania IC Title Match

Look, I've gone over this one twice already tonight. Duggan wins a classic with help from James Colorado. You get the idea.

Loonerty vs Chipmunk, Round 4 IC Title Match

It may be a bit of a forgotten gem amongst all the unmaskings and betrayals over the season, but Chippy defeating the all-time longest serving IC champion has to be one for his highlight reel.

And the winner is...

Sixthly:

Most Underrated Wrestler

This one goes to the best wrestler to fly under the radar.

Here are our nominees:

Tonga Bob

The man who main evented SweetaMania III and feuded with the nWo had a quiet year, despite his many, many accolades.

Raz

Everyone's favourite(?) rookie didn't have the winningest season, but he still made his presence felt.

Braklet

The Heartbreak Squid is back! Will his comparitively quiet season make him our first three-time award winner?

Mrs Turbo

After battering tavern patrons all through Season 37, Mrs T's S38 was surprisingly sober.

James Colorado

Yes, even the guy who spent most of the season cleaning up after Frothies Mcveigh still had time for a face turn and stint as Trios Champion.

MWPP

Sometimes overshadowed by her tag partner Dingster, MWPP still put up good wins throughout the season.

And the winner is...
