And that wraps up this season of SFAEW. What an absolute odyssey this season was, and I'd like to take this moment to do a little self-reflection.

The extended V1-Climax format, and by extension Midweek Mayhem, was a gamble that paid off...just ok. In terms of engagement and as a tournament, it was a success, but it also kneecapped what I could do with the week-to-week stories, given that there'd be four matches a week across two shows dedicated to it.

On top of that, I'm not getting any younger, and actually having to sim extra matches ate into too much of my dwindling free time outside the SFA, so I doubt the extended league format of the tournament will ever make a return.

Midweek Mayhem may only become an occasional thing going forward.

That said, I think most of this season's storylines came off well, although I really missed having Kennedy Parker around to bounce ideas off of and share the creative workload with. It really cannot be understated how even in this season, some of his plot threads were still kicking around.


I will say that in terms of SFAEW's future, I do think that we're past the halfway point of the concept. Still, I've got some more seasons partially mapped out, so let's put that inevitability aside for now.
