Big round of matches over the weekend! Irymple proving they are a powerhouse team, Red Cliffs must be sick of losing and South just cruising along undefeated. Wenty were missing a swag of players and should bounce back tho.

south havent come across any genuine competition yet wait till they face irymple and robinvale good friday will give everyone a good indication of where they are at.. imps will be looking forward to having a week off surely they will improve.

good to see reddy have a win at the weekend but with a few names to come back into the wenty side don't think we should be reading to far into it reddy are always good under lights... word is watty didnt make the squad in S.A so is heading back to Georgie G???? and still waiting for Leroy's clearance to go through.. can anyone give more detail?????

irymple.... far to good for us, ball winners all over the ground intresting to see in the paper how eato didnt fair amongst the votes good to see irymple can win by such a margin without cogs even getting on the score sheet dont expect to see a poor performance from merbein like that again this season.

Robinvale v Mildura.. score line pretty much expected didnt see the game but did listen to it on the radio sounded like the young blokes from both sides played alright sounded like motlop kicked all his from 50+... looking forward to the rvale irymple grand final rematch

After Merbeins performance on the weekend, I can see them upsetting some of the bigger teams in the league this season.

Riordon, Walder, Perkins, Hooker all showed them how it's done ;)

Guess these blokes didnt turn up on the wkd. Merbein wont get any where near the top 3 teams this year as the wkd result showed

2nd game of the year 3inarow how many games have your mob won ?? sometimes it takes time to build a week in week out competitive side as I'm sure you would understand with the amount of players that have left your club since last year.Irymple have some very well developed young blokes that are now able to hold their own in the seniors.

very young side, riordan again amongst the votes walder played well perkins cant kick goals if the ball doesnt get delivered properly and hooker didnt play.... merbein wont get any where near the top 3??? big call!! i spose you think red cliffs will make the four now that they've knocked wenty off??? its round 2 how can you judge a side after two games irymple is a class side.. i'd be more worried about your own side then anyone elses

We will still beat your Dad's army by 10 goals when we meet.

You throw in 2XClohesy and Doherty in our Midfield, A gun FF in McKenzie, B Rhodes and a fitter Petrie in our foward line and Roberts and Lemon in our back line and lets see how good you are.
The top 3 sides are a done deal so lets see who gets the forth spot. Imps and Wenty are the only 2, there is a big gap down to mildura, Merbien and Red Cliffs

Huuuuuuuuuge swipe before the fact........

The facts are Imps 0 - 2, Wenty 0 - 2, Merbein 1 - 1, Red Cliffs 1 - 1, Mildura 0 - 2......

Sure, IF 2 x Clohesy play (Dave with suspect knee), McKenzie plays (has'nt in 12 months), Roberts (hand injury, but big heart), Lemon (no pre season) all play and are fit, WITH support around the ground from Doherty, Petrie as a 3rd forwarde target behind D Hickey and McKenzie, young guns freed up (Keating, Mee, Lynch, McGlashan,) Imps SHOULD win over Merbein/Red Cliffs/Mildura/Wenty............and I'll win lotto.

All crystal ball stuff UNTIL the Green Machine gets these players on the same park, at the same time.........must admit, good looking side, may cause some problems to the wannabe's :D:D:D:D

I wouldn't think we would make finals either but I reckon we can get ourselves up the ladder a little the 6 bottom teams are all around par at the moment but only round 2 long way to go yet

I really dont think you are on the same level as Wentworth or South!!
So maybe the bottom 4 teams

I'm very happy the Tigers managed to get their first win on the board, and I'm pretty confident if they can play that way again that they will topple Imperials this weekend!

Don't get too far ahead of yourself Hotrodd Wentworth had a lot of players missing due to other commitments but still good for the comp to have bottom 2 sides last year posting wins early in the season.

South are travelling better than I thought, they were all over Irymple on the weekend. I don't think too many would've picked the result.

Too true Mad Booter, I certainly didn't pick South, and as I result I owe my boss a 6-pack!

I see Mackenzie is coming into the lineup for Imperials, apparently is a really good forward once he is over his injury problems.

We get McKenzie, Clohesy and Roberts back this week so we will beat Red Cliffs tmr and beat them easy

Also lose Rhodes for the remainder of the yr as he has moved north.

will be a tight game but redcliffs look better on paper, have a very tall forward line that imps wont be able to match.

This is shaping up as match of the round boy's. Imps win they will keep in touch with everyone, lose and they will be two wins behind the tiges. Someone will also chalk up their first win between wenty and mildura. only early days but this week looks important for all.

my tips

red cliffs 10-18 pts
wentworth 28pts
robinvale 120 pts

Couldnt agree more Doggsie, be interesting to see how they will stop the height of Faulkhead and McGlashan, with Price, Summerfield and the possibly of Oldham or Gowers rotating through at half forward, especially with Bamford and Yorston not playing.

Watched a terrific game of footy today between Irymple and Robinvale. Very skillful game with some very willing and fiery contests. Well done to the swallows, with no Baynes and with DeAngelis being a late withdrawal, it was a great win. The Swallows young kids were sensational. Only blight on the game was you J Funk, you must be extremely proud of yourself belting a young kid behind the play, felling him to the ground and having him take no further part in the game due to concusion. If keep that sort of stuff up, thing will generally tend to catch up to you.

J funk cops as much as what he gives. Irymple target him every game and I know he copped a few in the face as well in last years granny. Unfortunate for the young bloke but its also worth looking at what the young fella did first before you judge someone.

With the Interleague game only a few weeks away, what are everyones thoughts on a team?

Ill have a go see what you think.

B: N.Johns ,A.Rigby, Z.McGlynn
HB: B.Eaton, T. Hughes, R.Handreck
C: W.Brady, D.Fitzgerald, B.Hodson
HF: R.Harris, S.Motlop, M.Alvey
F: B.Perkins, T.Moncur, C.Lando
R: D.Fox, J.Jackson, A.Richardson
I: S.Crossling, S. Denaro, S.Boake, N.Hammence

Doggsie, not a bad team but, Rigby, Fox, Boake have not trained and will not play. Still a few weeks to go yet so there could be a few players put into the squad.
