SFL DIV3 2014

Which is an absolute get for ashwood. I actually spoke to wineberg at league presentation. I think a pressure will be right off him and he can focus on footy. Their will be talent heading to Ashwood that's for sure with what I presume would be 5-7 players that finished in the top 10 at Sandown BnF following Mick. Ashwood will be very strong if they gel next year.

And yourself?

Rossborough has confirmed he will be coaching Ashwood next year.

and the $$$ circus continues in the west. Obviously Ross chasing $$ which Ashwood have to find and in the meantime strip Sandown where they go back or have to spend to compete.

Cannizzo and the board 'pumps its chest' about looking after current SFL clubs and they just sit back and allow this to happen. As stared on Div 1 thread, league allows the clubs to run the agenda by allowing this type of spiralling cost effect to happen in our area which is already stretched in terms of players and sponsors with end result that players paying subs have to foot these bills I know I cant afford it and will drop out..
Turbo if Ross is that good why doesn't he build his cred and coach in a higher division rather than chasing $$ in the same level. Also I hope you don't go there, if you are annexed to his contract with $$ would be a shame as you need to remove yourself from his skirt and go out in a higher standard and maintain your cred.

If you and him to go there for $$$ doesn't sit right.

SFL should set a rule a player or coach cannot move to same division in its league following year i.e. 12 months out of that division if they are fair dinkum in shutting down the $$$ circus which is destroying SFL battling clubs in this case Ashwood and Sandown. Good help the poor 2's and 3rds players at Ashwood having to pay increased subs with Ross, Turbo and Wineburg t+ all other potential Sandown players. Come on Canizzo get fair dinkum here.

Just quickly before I go to bed, I will not be playing in div 3 next year. I congratulate mick on his appointment and wish him all the best. I have been in talks with a few clubs and decided where I'll be going.
Mick was not chasing $$$ BTW. He wanted a 2 year deal at sandown and they only offered him 1. A bit more to it but I've just finished a 15 hr night shift and it is time for sleep.

Joel doulton played in 2 Grand finals at edi asp winning the goal kicking for the club in the second year I think and also played in a grand final for chelsea heights winning the goal kicking for the club that year as well... You can't tell me he wouldn't be a walk up start to most first division sides also kumatartis in his prime was a very handy footballer

THE two clubs involved in the grand final abandoned at halftime over a brawl have been charged with bringing the Southern Football League into disrepute. And the league says it has identified supporters mixed up in the fighting at the Division 3 decider between Carrum Patterson Lakes and Mt Waverley at Heatherton’s Ross St Reserve on September 13.
The SFL has asked Carrum Patterson Lakes and Mt Waverley for a written response to the charge they had “engaged in conduct prejudicial’’ to the league.
CPL coach Andrew Lucas has also been charged with striking Mt Waverley’s Ben Beecroft in the second quarter.
They will then be required to appear before an SFL board disciplinary committee.
Cannizzo said the SFL was reviewing “all aspects’’ of its management of grand finals.
He said the league would decide if a Division 3 premiership would be awarded and a team promoted once the charges against the club had been resolved.

Kuimatisis would be 24 years old. He is actually IN his prime, not past it. If good enough he would be playing at a higher level. Same with all the others mentioned. Some were good players in there day but a mute point to suggest they would be walk up Div 1 players as they choose not to test themselves at that level.

And agree with the comments about just blindly allowing clubs to join the SFL. Far too many low performing clubs in the same area all cannibalizing each other for the same very shallow player pool. The U18 comp has not gained any traction in 5 plus years now. Maybe introduce a rule that no new clubs into the SFL unless they can field an 18s team and a have junior feeder.

The bloke had two knee recos

how many security personal were at the game? I probably only noticed a couple and not sure it's enough for 3k plus?
not that you would ever expect anything like this to happen

Cannizzo has confirmed they appointed FIVE (5) Security personal to manage the event and made no request for police to attend. Yes folks FIVE (5) guys to manage potential up to 1000 spectators ( 1 per 200 people - good luck with that one!) which some having started drinking at 10am.

Lucas charged now has to take some blame.

Turbo, I don't see how mick is a good coach at all. He's done bugger all. All I do is hear him shout. Any good coach with half a brain doesn't need to spray his own players to get a simple message across. I listened to the 1/4 time speech he gave you guys against carrum in that final and if it's anything to go by not much was said about what style of footy you wanted to play and in effect you guys got smashed around the ground. Good coaches step up when it counts and project negative energy in a positive way, I have never, in the 4 years iv been involved in the sfl, seen a calm mick. How the hell is he gonna cope coaching an inconsistent, basketcase like Ashwood?

Golly Barr a gun for Chelsea heights....who are you kidding he was average at best.... dalton talented no doubt but not a star, has too much fun of the ground. Think you will find edi asp didn't want him when he left.
Back to Barr was their third ruckman in the end, once Smith went to the ruck Barr was only their third ruckman, the coaches and there was two back then made a big mistake in playing him in the finals, totally in affective overall just a average tall bloke who rates himself a little tok highly ....

Let us see what happens with the inter league team this year, they way you all carry in there should be 8 or 9 in the squad, there will be three that might make it , Moritz is going back to CH apparently so one less for div3 , dalton no chance the full forward from lyndale absolutely no chance, would play 2nds at most div 1 clubs, Stacey no chance and the big full forward front waverley..... Yuk , give it up boys div 3 is div 3 leave it there... Good luck

We can only hope they keep picking the Interleague team the same way they have been for the last 5 years.. same old division 1 blokes with a reputation, but getting flogged by 10 goals at the carnival. keep it up ;)

If I seriously think i was good enough for div 1 don't you think I'd be playing it? That goes for 99% of us in div 3.Fml, you people go on about the stupidest shit.

Some people don't understand that football is not the most important aspect of life.
Some people may want to test themselves at the highest level possible, but for many others, it's a chance to get out their with your mates and take some enjoyment out of the game.

I don't think I can remember any Grand Final that has not had a Police presence so why did they not have police there? Would CPL and Mt Wav be saying to the League that in fact the reason that the Glen Wav supporters decided to harass the CPL players as they walked off was because they took advantage of the slack security? SFL slack in duty of care. They are the ones to blame here. Imagine if this brawl had happened at Doveton during a home and away game ? the SFL would have thrown the book at them and rightfully so, so why are the SFL beating the chest as to how well they handled this situation when in fact they were negligent.

Agree totally, I have heard him address players at Quarter time and all he does is shout and yell at them, may have worked 20 years ago not anymore..

Oh please, the Mount Waverly FC has a President and committee who I believe were all there on the day, where was their duty of care to the league, CPL and other spectators all there wanting to see a great game. Being a President or member of a committee means you are accountable for the conduct and behaviour of your players and members not just a figure head at the match day lunch. I doubt Jay would have been sitting there watching the events unfold and just note that it was NOT his responsibility. it was the SFL problem.

If Jay goes into the 'please explain' meeting with that objective then good luck "SFL Board members and Mr Cannizzo, Im sorry but you are to blame not us. Yes we organised the Beer and BBQ at the club at 10am before the GF, but when they get to the ground I handover the responsibility of their behaviour totally to the SFL. I cannot be responsible for their behaviour at the ground, that is the SFL problem not mine"......OH PLEASE!!!!

Cannot agree with you at all this time Bounce, the league are hosts they need to provide a safe environment, they did not, yes both Presidents are to blame as well but why did they let blokes into the ground that were drunk and brought in there own grog. Bounceback you have some good ideas but your theory is replaced here by simple good management - get police at the Grand Final, get proper security and do what you are paid to do SFL.

The league needs to plan for this type of stuff when they are organizing finals same as they would need to plan for anything going wrong. if at some point they have thought ok what if a fight/argument happens, (which does happen at football games even crowd fights) and they've planned exactly 5 security and no police then it's simply not enough to prevent anything escalating. I mean you can go online and watch footy fights that involve crowds all day long so it's obviously something that they should be prepared for
