Great choice. Love listening to Bunga speak so there's no downside here. I really think he can be AA this year if his health keeps up.

I'm forever amazed by the strange and mythical power of the nullarbor. Crossing it from east to west instantly transforms people into smarter, stronger, faster beings... and Bunga is no exception.

I think when they paired Duggan with him for the induction week they had made up their minds already.

Stoked with the choice, Bunga is one of the only players who manages to pull off a well executed kick regardless of whether he has an opposition player hanging off him; he doesn't go to water for the big moments and seems to be a natural leader (which probably comes with being a man child from a young age).

I think only Nic Nat could rival Hurn for 'presence' in our current team - any time Hurn gets the ball in the forward half you can feel the crowd and players know he is about to unleash puishment. I'm really happy to have a captain with that kind of imposing aura, as I can see him taking it upon himself to go for more 'captain's goals' etc. to lift the team with his leg-cannons.

Well done Eagles and congrats Bunga. I seem to recall one of the best games he played last year (perhaps even his best) was when it was his turn to captain the team. He played an inspirational game and his leadership was first class.

Great choice and well done Hurn.
He actually wanted the responsibility of being captain and has been pretty open about it so good to see they gave it to someone who wanted and relished it.
Now time to lead us back up the ladder where we belong.:thumbsu:

Super decision by the coasters. He played terrific footy last year when given the captaincy. Shows he will lead by example. The two vice captains are a great choice also. Onward and Upwards.

Top choice and my preference. Congrats Bunga:thumbsu:

He stepped up in the games he acted as Captain last year and is a player you can sense can go up a gear and really impact games. Half back is the perfect position to lead from and if we can engineer Simpson's free man in defense and make that man Hurn we will see us attacking more through Hurn with long precise kicks on or forward of half way.

Would make us look twice as fast moving the ball forward.;)

For Dark Sharks to set his inner eeyore at rest

You know very well it's going to take more then that for me to tone it down.

Every captain says similar things. Cotchin dropped off in his first season as captain (hasn't been the same player since IMO), Trengrove and Grimes probably also said similar things when they were both anointed captain. It's just the typical robotic media response players give.

Either way, i'm stoked with our new captain. Fingers crossed it brings out the best in him.

I understand where you're coming from and certainly the three you named struggled with the captaincy. Murphy at the blues is another who struggled and I'm sure if we both tried there'd be plenty of others. Those guys arguably weren't ready whereas I think hurn is more mature and is in a perfect place in his career to take on the role

Time will tell I guess but I think hurn will prove to be a very good captain
