BS. Dawes was good in 2010 and early 2011 before he got injured. Buckley werecked his career at Collingwood as he has done to others. Playing a man out of position then dumping him because the team failed is a dogs act.

The idea should have been to bring in Lynch for the Leigh Borwn role and not replace Dawes. If that happened we wouldnt have had 3 blokes hanging off Clokes neck the whole season. Just another Buckley disaster in tinkering with our forward line which was sublime in 2011.

Dawes couldnt mark a ball with a large bucket in 2011. Yeah 2010 was good but one season doesnt make a footballer. He was a average player and blaming Buckley for his performances is just outright ridiculous. I get it your in the "I love MM and I want him back" camp.
Also who are the "others" careers he has wrecked?

Because Buckley has a tendancy to get rid of players rather than work through the problem. Its the easy way out and a cop out.

Perhaps the same rule should be applied to the coaching position. i.e. have 1 bad year or a slip up (such as the Suns game where he didnt tag Ablett) then your gone.

I'd rather the trigger be pulled while there is still an upside than live with mediocrity. If Buckley can't get the ultimate result after a reasonable period of time, I expect him to be replaced with someone who can just like what Freo did with Harvey and Lyon

Are yes Broomy ,wasn´t he the player drafted with pick 20 received from the Dawes trade?
Tim Broomhead- 2012 AFL Draft Prospect

Name Tim Broomhead Position Midfield/Utility Age (by draft day)18 Height182cm Weight77kg Quick Notes on Tim Broomhead Can play anywhere on the ground.Good skills, strong mark, great endurance, works hard, quick, wins the contested footy.Tim Broomhead is a hardworking midfielder who can also move forward or back as required.Played 10 senior games and kicked 9 goals
for Port Adelaide SANFL in 2012

Will have to see how this pans out .Probably would have played this year but didn´t due in no part to glandular fever.

.

Ideally he has a solid pre-season with no illness/injury this time and debuts round 1 (depending on who we are playing). I'm honestly more bullish on him than Kennedy, I'm just left a little underwhelmed of BK at senior level.

BK didn't do a lot for me neither, hopefully he has a big second year.

I'm still left wondering why we didn't play Martin leading into the finals. Bigger body, better goal sense, and seems to have more aggression. I really want us to lock KMart down, have a nagging feeling we might lose him back to SA...

I have a feeling you are not a pies supporter.

If you are, maybe you should find another club. Take care.

If we lose them both we will replace them. Ben Kennedy could become the next daisy in 2 years, and ramsay the next shaw

One thing for certain is the club will go on and I will be in my seat come round 1*

*excluding games at Etishit Stadium.

Isn't he a Melbourne local?

I saw enough to like in Kennedy. His last few games were no good. In fact, he didn't do much in the 2nd half of the year when used.

However, he played a few solid games early on, and he showed he has a fearless attack on the footy. He just needs to develop some more core strength. There is nothing wrong with being short, but you need to have good core strength and be able to stand up in tackles (or slip through them).

His skills looked mediocre, but he was drafted as a player with good skills and good pace. He just needs to settle down and adjust to the pace. He seemed to me to be rushing and panicking. However, at VFL level he was clearly a class above.

It's his tenacity at the footy which excites me. I think he will be player. But will take time. Too small at this stage.

don't get why people are worried about kennedy, he is a teenager and had a few opportunities to kick 5 goals if he had his kicking boots on. Has pace and strength but looks rushed similar to jt's first few games

Yep. They wouldn't go for it you'd think as Petrie is a bit long in the tooth and Tarrant not reliable.

But they have pick one already tied up with a father/son and pick 26 or whatever it is won't be enough.

Would have said Dawson Simpson from Cats mid season, but think we are okay for rucks, maybe just a state league back-up. Cats have pick 15 or so, which I reckon is a bit late for Heath and don't really want to assist them either.

Preface - Not a huge Buckley supporter and a little worried at what has gone on since his arrival. However, think the we need to be more balanced with reviewing the Dawes situation - which was sad to see.

1. Yes. However, it was the injury not Buckley that wrecked his career.

2. Correct that was the idea. Dawes obviously didn't feel secure enough in his position when they told him that they couldn't guarantee his spot with Lynch coming in. He cracked it and left, which ruined the plan for the Brown replacement. So, was it Buckley's fault, or should we be blaming Dawes for backmen swamping Cloke in 2012-2013?

Yea I said that in wishful thinking. They'd want a lot more than just Shaw for Black

Reports that Geelong & North Melbourne are in the race for Shaw. What would we want from them in return?
Tarrant seems to have a Collingwood ring to it

Just signed last week didnt he?

So, Shaw is also contracted so they (nth) will need to trade for him. Screw Geelong, unless they give us something very good, dont deal with them. We dont need to help strengthen other teams fighting for top 4 places in 2014. Plenty of crappy teams would love Heath in their side and they have more to offer in the form of draft picks
