I'd put Bobby at 3. He's the only bloke in the side that has previously played that role successfully, and the only guy I'd see at 3 for this side.

FFS man Butterworth won the sheffield on his own knocking over sides for less than 200 regulary. It's like that because he's not a victorian you just dismiss his last few seasons as one of the best non australian players going around.

Only managed to catch the last couple of overs before lunch but from what i can tell, the pitch looks fine for batting. Really need some early breakthroughs after lunch or else White will have made a huge blunder.

Obviously any session where you don’t lose a wicket is a good session though in that last hour the Vics have Cowan tied right down and not allowing Cosgroves dominance to land a hurting punch. Would have been better if he could have just got him on strike more often when he started to ramp it up. Think the Australian selectors would have liked to see it too that when Batting with Warner that he would be able to do that to. Tassie reluctant to play anything forward at this point, suggesting the first drop in wicket of the season is holding up off the deck a little.

I'm probably too harsh on him. I'm just not that big on Maxwell yet.

I'm not sure he'll ever become a front-line spinner option for Australia, but he does have the potential to become our best part-timer. If that makes sense. He's up against the likes of Dussey, Smith, Marcus North.

Simon Katich will always be my fave part timer. Was horribly underbowled IMO.

I'm not convinced by his batting either, stats are good but against us last season he made runs but I reckon 80% were through 3rd man.
