Shopping Centre Stories

Don’t have a shopping centre story other than they’re the closest thing to a phobia I have. I can’t stand them. Therefore my suggestion is go early morning or at night to avoid the congestion.

Went shopping before the 2 checkout people working back 2 back .
Talking each other in thier own language almost the whole time.
The old lady did say "I hoping your not being rude".Fair enough comment imo.
They seemed friendly enough, who knows what say were saying.

The way some people behave at shopping centers - couples airing their marital problems in screaming matches, dysfunctional families having dramas, rude customers, two grown men getting into a fist fight when one allegedly stole the other's parking spot and there are many free bays less than 50m away - sometimes when I go there I feel I have somehow stumbled onto the set of Home and Away or the recording of the next season of 'Married at First Sight'.
Where do you live?? I’ve never seen any of that 😮

That's more of a problem in tourist areas. People from countries who drive on the right tend to walk on that side too.

Escalator etiquette is interesting. On the London Underground the rule is stand on the right, walk up the left. In Australian train stations it's the opposite. In both countries, at busy times, I have seen long queues for the standing side form and the station staff shout "stand on both sides". On shopping centre escalators it's a free for all.
In America they yell “Keep right!”

Hmmm I don't know. Lots of people speak not English.

I sometimes go up an escalator with the trolley behind me to prevent that situation. Also do it when in the line at the checkout for the same reason.
If you push the trolley on to one side there’s enough room for people to walk past it.

Can this extend to shopping centre car park antics ?

It's not even December and "that" close to Christmas, but I've seen a few bogans go right off with tooting horns, showing middle fingers AND a large usage of F and C words directed at people they are battling with over a car park space!! Only witness it as I cut through the carpark after hopping off a bus etc.

Today's was wild, never heard a female go off her nut as much.

I had a guy go to me that was my park .
I didn't steal it just got there quicker.

I said well "someone closer".
Not a very good happy Gilmore voice.

Went to the shops today, stopped to look into a clothing store to see if I would go in and a kid came zooming around one the displays on one of those little scooters with two wheels at the front and stopped right in front of me. I thought that was odd behaviour inside a shopping centre let alone inside a smallish store, and also where are his parents or a shopkeeper chasing him away with a broom? Anyway I figured none of my business I don't work there and he's not my kid so kept looking at the display then a second later out of nowhere he very politely apologised.

Did notice with the shops only slightly busier than normal a few audible grumblings from people trying to navigate around shopping centre zombies with zero spatial awareness. You just know it's the same people that park directly across from other parked cars on narrow two lane roads.

Ah, the Christmas spirit is warming up 😀

I should be getting my Accessible Parking Permit in a week or so. I can't wait to show it off to people like Mr. Bean while my AgedCare helper is parking. I shall wave it proudly out the window.

My Australian Disability Parking Permit arrived in the mail yesterday. So does that make me both Australian and Disabled? Can I use it instead of a passport? Or is just the Parking Permit Australian and Disabled? I've never had a car licence so it seems strange that I'm permitted to park a car. I'm so confused.

So many great shopping centre moves

A personal fave of mine is the people who ride up an escalator and then at the top, not knowing which way they want to go, just stop dead on the spot to have a look around.

As everybody else just piles up behind them

When shopping centres are busy it’s basically like being in traffic, except with no rules

this happened to me at the airport the other day. wish i wouldve had a luggage cart and given them an ankle tap

Anyone who drives you anywhere can display the permit and park in spaces marked for the disabled.

It’s labelled Australian to show it’s official and not something you’ve run off on your home printer. It’s probably not valid in any other country.

I suspect you already know this 😉

Cutting through a shopping center this evening... had to walk through a middle path as two streams of people going the same direction had taken both the left and right sides.

I'll have to resort to wearing a Jason Dunstall style helmet and mouth guard next trip :p
The week after dermie..
Unsocial hawks

Might get rubbed out at the .

Went out today with my bright and shiny new Australian Disability Parking Permit for the first time. Of course, no spaces were available in the two places we parked. I felt like stabbing a few tyres with a screwdriver.

The ironing to many disability people 🤣.
Once you get your disability ticket.
