Should Dwayne Russell be commentating?

He probably is a good bloke, but in my opinion he appears to have less clue than someone that has barely watched a game.

Perhaps this could become a petition of sorts to get this bloke off fox footy, possibly a bit harsh?

don't like his calls either, I really don't like many of the commentators as most are slightly biased toward the club they have previously been involved in and that's just a conflict of interest if you ask me.

Commentators are there to entertain and call the play as it unfolds and it's unfortunate a lot of commentators of today are ex-players of a bi-gone era.
Anthony Hudson was good 5-10 years ago but he's now just utter crap and sounds like a depressant when listening to him call games.

Clinton Grybas was probably the best of them all until his unfortunate passing a few years ago which sux as it's all gone down hill since.

The problem for Dwayne is that when you get a good commentator like Anthony Hudson, you really notice the difference (Saturday night game).

He doesn't try to dominate the game, he just calls it like he sees it without the ego or bravado.

I wouldn't mind if Russell was more sporadic in his commentary, but he just doesn't shut up. It is incessant bullcrap, it's overbearing, and it becomes almost the domininant force in the telecast, which almost ruins the whole experience. Actually, if often does. Going from the Etihad game last night to Anthony Hudson's lean and efficient commentary was day and night really. Or night and day, I guess.

I assume Eddie will actually be doing calls this year and not just special comments. I'd go insane if the only three commentators on Fox Footy in rotation were Hudson, Russell, and Campbell.

Can't stand him as a commentator and he is terrible on 3AW when talking footy. Specifically when he speaks about my club, the players or whenever he asks a question.....he simply doesn't know what he is talking about.

Gotta admire a commentator, or boundary rider as he was back then, who gets so involved in the game that he strips off and showers with the players after the game...
