Should we give up on Brown as a forward?

Looks a lot better when he has some space to take the game on and be creative.
Should either be at CHF, on a HFF or down back, until he can develop the ability to take contested marks and time leads.
Maybe see how Kennedy goes at FF. Better in the air and on the lead, and is a great kick for goal. Sure we won't be able to use Kennedy's tank, but Brown has a massive tank too, ran a 15.6 beep test at the start of last year. Then put Brown at CHF.

On the note of people talking about sending brown back down back, i bloody hope its to a flank as i think schoey is a far better chb. TBH i'd rate schoey in our top 5 most exciting prospects.

I just don't see it.. Top 5?

Schoey actually can be a good kick on goal.

I wouldnt judge him on that game. He was thrown forward in the last part of the game while half the team didnt look like they knew what they were doing.

I haven't been following WAFL in recent times so perhaps you're right. Hes a better kick out of defence than the likes of Clanger, MacKenzie and Wilkes.. but thats not saying much.

I watched as many of his games for Peel as i could last year and i saw some good goals, so he can do it. But he was injured a lot last year and i think he's getting back into it and should improve quickly :)

I floated the idea at the start of last year to put Schofield at FF. Honestly it's not a bad idea but i would like to see Schofield given a real shot at a defensive role. He's tall but can play shorter than Brett Jones so he doesn't limit us in terms of mobility all that much to play him as a third tall or at worst a Utility.

Mitch Brown should be told to lean down a little at the end of 2010 and we should groom him as our third tall. McKenzie will be our best best FB option and Schofield is our best CHB option. Brown doesn't do it for me up forward because he plays as a CHF.

while im prone to giving young players a chance especially
after only 3 games, but he hasnt done one thing impressive
down there. He probably dropped 5 marks minimum he should
of taken, and ive never seen him take a mark on the lead,
not sure if others have, but it give me the impression he isnt
a great lead up forward or pack marking forward.

I wouldnt drop him however instead move him to the 3rd backman role like last year

Glass has been a pure full back for his entire career, and is
our best backman today, why move him forward? Given he
is retiring would people be happy with a Emac, Schofield and
Brown as the talls in the backline ?

Glass' kicking has actually improved, these days most of his
kicks are 30 m or less to an open man across the face of goal
and not once in recent memory has he f'ed it up, Waters and
MacKenzie are chronic offenders of this, EMac cost us a game
againts Sydney last year. MacKenzie more I think about it is
very similar to a young Glass, but needs to learn his limitations
like Glass did.

As for the actual thread, I think Lynch should be the Full forward,
at least for a year until theres a clear better players coming
up from youth, Looking at Tony Notte, he's performed better
then both Hanson and Brown and there is no other options for
a Full forward other then the big Q

No certainly NOT!!!

But while he is learning this craft I suggest that he play as a roving HFF and every now and the play him out of the Goal square, Not just throw the kid in FF and say OK Mitch win us this game.
