There is discussion in the media about this which is a bit polarising. Some say we should wait to see how the season pans out. Others think we should sign him now as he is indicated he wants to commit to the club. He is our best player and imagine signing him up before other clubs come with inflated offers to perhaps sway him. We need to get the Henry deal done soon. Other clubs are signing players to long term deals early in the season. Look at free agents like Heeney, Macrae etc. off the market now which is good management by their clubs.

We have to, seeing Moore is gone.

All the cards are in our hands, he has a sense of obligation to the club which is a good sign…shows character. I would sign him under market rates…my bigger concern is his injury profile.

So far he’s been found guilty of getting into two fights, I’m sure there are plenty here who have had more or done worse…he’s hitting his prime and maturity should follow as well. Richmond had Dusty, and we have Jordy. Swan was similar too, for me it’s a no brainer sign him up

I mean of course you try to sign him now it’s the lowest his negotiating power has been since 2017, but he’s clearly not the number 1 priority. I’m sure once the Moore deal is done JDG will be next in line. If I’m Henry’s management I’m waiting until second half of the year in the hope he’s broken out.

Henry is going to be a gun, he's not going anywhere, just because his brother plays for Geelong doesn't mean anything, plenty of brothers playing at different clubs. I would keep Henry before DeGoey

I don’t really have an opinion on the whole Jack/ Ollie reunion I just expect Geelong will come hard based on their pre-draft interest. On the flip side you have JDG’s management talking about wanting to get a deal done which is good because it provides us leverage. I would question the list management knowledge of anyone preferring to sign JDG over Henry. What I also know is Henry’s management know that there are people with views like ours so they’ll want to wait.

Sign him up now, if we wait we end up paying more for him. So he has been in a couple of fights he didn’t start it’s hardly a big deal

I think you'd be questioning the list management of most AFL list managers. I'm assuming you'd agree that Jordy is going to sign to a much higher salary and would be worth considerably more in trade. If list managers considered Henry to be a more important signing, wouldn't that be reversed?

I have also heard rumours from my source (a player agent) that De Goey will not sign at Collingwood. He does not appreciate the club's stance towards him and has decided to ignore the offers.

I would take 2x first rounders for Henry any day. Happy to trade him if the deal helps us secure someone else. I think we have commodities and stocks which have value and if clubs are willing to over-commit, then I'm excited to let that unfold.

What are you talking about? Noone is paying close to that for Henry.

If a club is willing to offer us two first round picks for Henry, I'd make that deal.

I will admit it was a bit tongue-in-cheek. But my point is, if Geelong can offer us a decent deal that satisfies out needs and their wants and we're the clear, we're stupid not to take it.

I'm not on drugs, don't own a Nissan and like the farting unicorn.
