Simmo's Class Warfare

The most bizarre part is that he didn't even address what people are angry about. They're not angry that West Coast would choose private school people over public school people, it's the weird Game of Thrones style view on bastards and commoners that people are angry about.

What style view are you trying to paint him with?

Every club does their due diligence through the interview process. Even yours.
What a stupid thing to get riled up over

But what Simmo is insinuating is they consider whether a kid went to (a) private school and (b) parents are married, and make that part of the due diligence process when selecting kids.

If that's not making the issue systemic, then I don't know what is.

And if you don't see an issue with that, I don't know what else to say.

I get the point he's trying to make and the context he's saying it in, and I doubt he actually wants to do it, but it's poor form.

Pretty hilarious the virtue signalling and triggered Geelong fans in here after the way they treated Tim Kelly

“we own you slave boy and your family is irrelevant”

Are you ****en serious 😂😂😂😂😂

how we treated him?
Is that a loose translation for a lot of people saying ‘well we offered him as much as we could to try and offset the reasons he wanted to go home but ultimately he has a family to look after so that’s what has to come first.’

He's smarter than Eddie. A direct attack on the poor is not as bad as something that can be construed as remotely racist.

Yes, the working poor are fair game still even more so if they're white because you just call them white trash. No-one has suffered more under COVID than the working poor it's quite tragic. But we're all in this together eh.

So in another context, you take on Foster kids but need the extra funds from the government to help out so you can afford to do so.
The government cuts those funds in half so you can no longer afford some of the extras you were able to afford, tutors, social workers, medical help etc.
If you turn around to the agency and say sorry I can't afford to take on the troubled youths that need extra care, schooling, medical help etc does that mean you suddenly become an Elitist Nazi loving Communist ?

Pretty simple comparison but going of some of these comments, my god there are some high horses around. Higher even than Simmo's. :p

Yes he probably could have put it better but if you were unable to grasp his point because you were trying to construe what he said as negatively as possible so be it.

How 'bout Charlie Cameron? Boarded at the same school as the Cripps, Fyfe, Baker etc ... all just kids who could play footy.

Slinging off based on the school attended or race or religion says plenty about those making the comments.
I'm really not sure what you're cracking on about mate.

Are you suggesting I'm racist as I suggested that marginalised ethnicities in Australia don't get the same opportunities as their White Australian counterpart? If so, how on Earth could that be considered racist?

Simmo has confirmed he has an established bias and preference toward private school kids, which is classist - no ifs or buts about it.

FWIW - I like the Eagles as a Football Club, I'm sure Simpson is a good enough guy that I could sit down with and have a few beers with but we'd for sure disagree on political nuances. Same goes to you, you seem reasonable enough and probably are a good guy that's not satisfied by seeing your coach be - to your judgement; taken out of context.

No point us arguing this further, as we won't agree on this topic. Have a good one.

All good, Simmos deeds answer the questions being asked & it doesnt include the bias you conclude him to have.
