He had a problem with how the Doggies operated as well.

I always think, when I'm having a problem with a lot of people maybe they're not the problem
Working one job for 6 years doesn't indicate much of a problem. IMO the next couple of years drafts are maybe likely to be dedicated to the academy. Any trade is likely to be a big'un. Not a lot happening in his territory.

I agree. Dalrymple was at the Swans 6 years. It’s a reasonable tenure in a high performance industry and when Sydney is such an expensive place to live. Isn’t Dalrymple originally from Victoria, so friends and family are there. All the reporting I have read describes Kinnear as well-respected. So easy to make baseless accusations or repeat random gossip online.
Dalrymple stayed in Victoria for his role with us so that was not the issue. Saints have a fair amount of room in their salary cap, and he might have been looking for a new challenge.

Most of the non-Victorian clubs have their recruiting staff based out of Victoria. I know that we do, the Crows certainly do and so do the Eagles. It's a roles that doesn't need to be based out of the club itself and can be done remotely.

I seriously hope we make a play for Emma Quayle. She's been excellent for the Giants.

That's really interesting to hear - can you elaborate? I remember before the Giants recruited Emma Quayle and she was great at previewing the draft (for Fairfax press from memory). It was an exciting development when the Giants recruited her because I can't remember another media hack getting picked up like that (not that she was a 'hack'). So, I'm certainly favourably predisposed towards her.

Since then the Giants have had some drafting hits and misses, like all clubs. But it is particularly hard to discern Quayle's role, especially when she is not the head recruiter. Do you have more intel? Or else what is the reasoning you basing your opinion on?

Sorry about the delay. Went off to check with some GWS peeps who are better informed than I re the GWS drafting.

Quayle is 2nd in charge & as my sources say she's more than ready to step up into a head recruiters role if she wants it based on what they've seen from her time at the Giants.

For sure but I wonder if there's an opportunity to apply a senior resource to both or maybe that's too much for one person. Also considering the limitations on the women's side maybe we're better as we are(whatever that is?).
That would be a fair bit of work for 1 person. They'd also be left with pretty much no off season juggling the two due to how the season work - which is a mental health issue.

Word is that they are going to replace Dalrymple and they are likely to announce the replacement in the first half of next month (3-4 weeks). They are thinking of the club's recruitment needs over the next 5-10 years when deciding who to replace him with.
