Time for another edition of #ratstats
Round 19
A home game to finish the minor rounds saw the Rats needing a win to cement a top four spot. The Roys were up and about, while the game was a sell out, which was impressive considering the game was on a Wednesday night.
A resurgent HirdsTheWord was the star, booting five goals as the Rats edged out their friendly rivals to earn a double chance in the finals. okeydoke7 also chipped in with three goals to bring his season tally to 64.

Time for another episode of #ratstats
Qualifying Final
Coming in as underdogs against the OOB's (who are in one of their "up" years), the Rats were still nonetheless chirpy leading into the game. Celebrating the 100th game for paraaaa ended up being the only highlight of the week, as this was a one sided affair. Trailing by 28 points at the first break, things didn't improve for the visitors. okeydoke7 kicked a bag of five goals but it wasn't enough, as the Rats went down by 56 points.
Fortunately the Rats had the double chance and lived to fight another day.
Semi Final
After last season's straight sets effort, there was extreme pressure on the Rats and in particular coach Qen Hinkley and CEO Big Chungus. Amongst the sellout crowd there was even a banner calling for the skipper's sacking, which threatened to overshadow star ruckman damicky playing game 100. The Dragons for their part, were threatening their own skipper, whilst also using ChatGPT to imitate a qooty team.
A tense start saw the Rats trailing by a solitary point at quarter time against an accurate Dragons outfit. The second quarter was much of the same, with the home side leading by just three points at the main break. Then with a fired up crowd behind him, Ant Bear produced a finals performance that our grandkids will be talking about as the Rats broke the game open with a six goal to none third term. The Rats eventually ran out 37 point winners.

Firstly, to answer your questions, yes it's taken me this long to get over the GF loss. To answer the other question, no the rumours of me joining the Wonders are not true.
Preliminary Final
Buoyed by not going out in straight sets for the second successive season, the Rats were up against our old friends the Roys (emphasis on old). The mood in the match thread was happy, with old hands Ant Bear and ant555 starting to get up and about again.
A bit of a slow start for the Rats before HirdsTheWord kicked a goal which got the crowd revved up. The Rats were down for the first half despite having more scoring shots, before a spookism inspired six goal to one third term blew the game open. The last term was party time as the Rats booked their first grand final berth since season 30.
Grand Final (MOTR)
In a throwback to the Sweet FA grand finals of the golden years, both sides approached this match with the most enthusiasm, passion and excitement seen since Mobbs discovered MineQraft. The Spamrats were back and boy was it glorious. Seeing the likes of Ant Bear, sataris and GotTheGoodes up and about was enough to bring even the most jaded Swamprats supporters out from the woodwork. To their credit, the Old Boys were just as up and about.
The game itself lived up to all expectations, for three quarters at least. A see-sawing game saw the Rats go into the final change with a slender five point lead. Unfortunately the Old Boys ran away with it in the last to secure their #cuptospoontocup status and deny the Sin City faithful the flag we thought we deserved.
