Re: Soccer/Association Football Kit Discussion

TBH, I don't know why the Roar haven't gone for this approach for their logo?

For me, the current one doesn't really look right on orange and black kits.

Much better. Though I'd prefer it in a circular crest, with a more simplified Lion head. I hate the typeface as well. The soccer ball forming the 'O' is quite tacky, also.

I quite like that andonis. Maybe change the grey on the outside to white, just for consistency.

Other than that it looks good :thumbsu:

New Socceroos away kit.

Improvement on the two tone blue.

Something different, but I like it.

Looking forward to seeing the home.

I like it. :thumbsu: Much better than the current away kit.

Anyone got the image of the new home one or has that not been released yet?

Hasn't been released yet.

This was on facebook aswell posted by the Australian Football page. Good page to join if anyone's interested.

Re: Soccer/Association Football Kit Discussion

I have to be honest, I really don't like that strip.

Re: Soccer/Association Football Kit Discussion

No I think it's the extra stripe on the sleeve, or is that the captain thing ?

It is just a stripe,

The new Australia away shirt has an obsidian blue body with a new and bold yellow stripe along the entire left side, which runs through the national coat of arms, and reflects both the nation’s modernity, and the contrasting and bright light of the vast Australian landscapes.

On the right sleeve is a smaller yellow stripe, which completes the stripe on the body of the shirt, while inside the neck is the Football Federation Australia badge.

The new away shorts are obsidian blue, while the new away socks, now with improved cushioning for greater comfort, are also obsidian blue with ‘Australia’ on the back of each calf.

Re: Soccer/Association Football Kit Discussion

I figure this is as good a place as any to post concepts, so here goes.

I hate United. I really do. But I've always admired their kits and for a while have been thinking about creating a few mockups. I wanted to stay true to the simplistic style of their kits, because you don't want to trial something too outlandish for a club that is one of the biggest in the world (isn't that right Barca...!!)

Therefore I went with a very plain template for the home and away kits. The all red home needs no explanation. The white away kit has been used by the Red Devils since the late 1950s and has a lot of history being worn in an FA Cup final once. My third kit idea is a bit different. In my opinion yellow/gold is the "forgotten colour" of Man Utd. Traditionally Man U have had third kits of either blue or black. But never once have we seen an outfield kit that is yellow, even though it is the second colour on the crest. So my third kit follows a different template that adds thin hoops to break up the yellow, in red and black.

I hope you like it and I'd love to hear some feedback. :)

EDIT: If anyone is following my "What's in a Badge" series then Episode 2 will be up in the next couple of days. And it will be on Sunderland. :)
