THE HERALD SUN TODAY HAS MORE PAGES ON THE QUEEN THAN HARVEY NORMAN ADDS

missed the chance to combine them surely

Queens favourite washing machine half price

the silence for a monarch or the welcome to country , toss up which pile of crap is more annoying
At least we haven’t gone all Premier League & cancelled the week’s fixtures.

I found that utterly bizarre. A lot of Brits are really upset and a weekend of football would have done them the world of good.

And the AFLW has cancelled the minutes silence before the rest of the games as it's too sensitive being the indigenous round . The world has gone f ing mad

Have a think through why that might be, Bedders. It's the AFLW Indigenous Round.

And those who think the Welcome to Country is a bit naff are probably frothing that they don't have enough opportunities to mourn a coloniser.

It IS too sensitive for Indigenous round. I can't believe you don't understand that.

Where did I use the word racist? Bit defensive there.

Just pointing out that in Indigenous Round, having a minute's silence for Britain's queen right after the Welcome to Country is not the most sensible thing.

Apologies misread it

I was talking about last night

in regards to the indigenous round , I can see it looks rather hypocritical /mixed signals . Though the head of state died, which she was regardless of whether people like it or not. Some acknowledgment would seem appropriate.

But I also see that celebrating the head of the empire that is seen to have invaded the culture you are celebrating is off as well . AFL will piss people off either way

What was the issue with last night? I think the order of things wasn't great, but not sure the solution. I was confused by your criticism of having a Welcome to Country last night as if they haven't had it before all finals. Do you not find recognising and respecting the traditional custodians worthwhile?

No I don't find that ceremony before a game worthwhile , it seems to be something to make a few people feel like they did something for race relations .

It is for relations, its an acknowledgement of an ancient tradition our indigenous people carry out to this day.

Sorry mate but that's an appalling attitude to have.
