With the way the MRP has come down on head high contact, you'de think a blatant elbow to the face would be worth 6 weeks???

Well, the focus of the new rules re head high contact is actually about protecting a guy with his head down over the ball. Solomons hit wasnt one of those "front on to go a guy with head down" scenarios.

That said, he clearly raised the elbow, so it will be striking to the head and the fact that his opponent was knocked senseless and couldnt return wont help. I reckon the offence will get about 3 but I have no idea how many carry over points etc that Solly has.

Dog act (but not surprising). Nor was Mark Johnson's 'cheap shot' knee. Why Freo, a team with discipline problems, would go and get Mark Harvey, Mark Johnson and Dean Solomon is mind-boggling (apart from the fact that Harvey was a huge risk and Johnson and Solomon were already gone).

Remember when Soloman got offered big bucks to leave essendon and go to richmond - and he turned it down! only to have essendon thank him by sending him to play as a knuckleman for the crappiest team in the crappiest place in the country. Karma - now he will retire as a sniping dog

You guys need to get your hand off it...

Comparing that to Hall on Staker is like comparing Geelong to Fremantle

The real difference is that, with Solomans momentum, body being behind the elbow, the pointiness and low impact area of an elbow, Solomans act had much more potential for serious damage than Halls hit.

It was every bit as intentional and Ling could not have expected to be hit in the head. He should be in SERIOUS trouble.
