Some thoughts about the coaches???

Laidley for all the things he has done that I agree are good, for him to be there for so long and not really appear from the outside to have done anything to improve the team makes you wonder. How is he still an AFL coach?
He does the gardening on Sundays and fixes Jims car.

Could say the same for Worsfold. Only looked a good coach when he had Cousins, Judd, Kerr etc firing in the midfield. Once he lost his gun midfield he looked like a complete mug.

Both him and Sumich have no idea how to organise a midfield or a forward line. That's why your club was so desperate to recruit Voss or Burns who have some tactical nous.

He made the finals in his first season, after Judge's 2 years of hell. Judd was a first year player, Kerr a second. That midfield grew into a dominating one, he didn't walk into it.

Yeah your quite right. My post earlier was aimed at B2BW so was it was a slight B13 exaggeration. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Worsfold did do a pretty good job initially. I still think he has his limitations though. Without your 5 star midfield he needs to work out some different tactics to keep you guys competitive.

He seemed to struggle last year but he deserves another year or two to prove his metal. I certainly wouldn't write him off just yet.

Yeah I agree that he has his faults. This season the club has publicly come out and said that it has a new game plan, put together by Worsfold and a very new group assistant coaches. I would like to think that it is obvious that our "handball happy" gameplan isn't going to cut it without a brilliant midfield.

One thing that they all need to do for sure is to take stress management courses. Jesus they are highly strung! My thoughts are that Wallace is all spin no substance and combined with his drafting blunders has turned out to be the worst. Mind you, Malthouse has been going backwards. His failure to identify flaws within our own team and rather attack umpires and everyone else for our shortcomings is becoming tiresome. Magpie fans are restless Mick so please concentrate on winning and less on playing the blame game.

i think Gary Ayres or Jenny Craig would have a big say in this issue
followed by Gieschen,Dennass Pagan(well at carlton anyhoo),Tim Watson and :eek:Damian Dumb:eek:
Also Grant Thomas and Alistair Clarkson have in put into this issue

The same Neil Craig who has his team playing finals every year!

Mark Harvey is a joke, worst coach in VFL/AFL history

Surely Gary Ayres has this 'accolade' in the bag. Inherits a great list, gives the likes of Couch, Bairstow, S.Hocking, Brownless and Ablett snr the arse and replaces them with household names like Leigh Brockman, Joel McKay, Brett Spinks, Justin Wood and Tim Finocchiaro, and when the team is on its knees both on and off the field, deserts the sinking ship and pisses off to Adelaide.:thumbsdown:

And didn't I love watching those players running around as we smashed them grand final after grand final :D They might have been "good" players.... but they were the biggest chokers of all time. I can see what Ayers was trying to do there.

I wouldn't call them chokers. It was just we had no backline back then, and when defensive teams clamped down on our midfielders, like the Eagles did, we were stuffed. Just look at our back six in the 1992 grand final: Sean Simpson, Tim Darcy, Andrew Rogers, Ken Hinkley, Tim McGrath and Trevor Poole. Doubt those six would have struck fear into any forwardline.

Knights 2
Ratten 0

How stupid do you look now?

About as stupid as you...

FWIW I loved Knighta the player. Seems to still be working himself as a coach though. Hope he does well, but couldn't claim to want him lifting a cup at the Bombers any time soon.

As for Ratten, I think he will be a great coach, but like Knights, still has a lot to work out. Great footy brain, but seems a little slow at times come game day.

Thanks for that Captain Obvious.

See if you can provide some stats on the head to head count between Knights and Ratten. I simplified my version, I'd be interested to see what you can come up with dumb ass.

Certainly no less obvious than what you posted Douchebin.

Here's a tip for you... when using statistics to explore a contention you should reach for as many indicators as possible, not restrict yourself to a sample size of two *MK giggles*

I figured the addition of the entire H&A season would at the very least give an equal but opposing viewpoint to the one you had so triumphantly tried to ram down another's posters throat while telling him how stupid he was. And look, you're at it again.

Aren't inadequacies a thing of beauty.

Yep thats him ! The same one that will never take them to a grandfinal. :thumbsu:
The same one to get his side within a couple of kicks of a GF twice, and who holds the best win/loss record of all the current coaches? That Craig?

Big call to say he will never get the side to make a GF. He has a reasonable shot at it again this year.
