Soundwave 2013 - Metallica to headline

Stone Sour were at Soundwave in 2010, but they blew me away - they were my main surprise for the day.

This, **** they were good. I'll wind up attending a sideshow for them if they have another at Festival Hall for SW13.

As for tomorrow, I'm really hoping for GWAR and Black Tide specifically amongst a lot of others.

I'd hope Melvins or Tomahawk are named. You'd probably get both if you got one.
the Mark of Cain to return to Oz stages would be great.
Other bands I hope come back for tours, or are part of Soundwave.
Kyuss lives
Corrosion of Conformity
Textures
Animals as leaders
Torche
Red fang
Crowbar
Evile
Refused
Nine Inch Nails
Some excellent bands there. Wouldn't surprise me to see Tomahawk playing, and the Melvins would be excellent as well (though I'd rather both do their own tour).

Torche, Crowbar and Red Fang I reckon are very good chances as well. AJ has already drawn a line through NIN and Refused though (word is Refused will be here later this year anyway). He also mentioned no Aussie bands on Twitter, so I can't see TMOC happening.

Melvin's are currently touring as a 3 piece, and Patton often joins in for some Fantomas shows. Slim chance of seeing all three, but it has happened before so it's not like it couldn't .

I'd still love to see Big Business here too. Just another for the wishlist.

Lineup:

Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink-182, A Perfect Circle, The Offspring, Paramore, Garbage, Tomahawk, Stone Sour, Kyuss Lives, Anthrax, Sum 41, Dragonforce, All Time Low, Flogging Molly, Ghost, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Motion City Soundtrack, Lawrence Arms, Kingdom Of Sorrow, Fozzy, Sleeping With Sirens, Cancer Bats, Madball, Vision of Disorder, Pierce the Veil, Periphery, Shai Halud, Of Mice & Men, Miss May I, Danko Jones, Woe Is Me, The Wonder Years, While She Sleeps, Such Gold, Lucero, Six Feet Under, Deaf Havana, Red Fang, Chunk! No Captain Chunk! and Memphis May Fire!

Not the greatest line up, but well worth my coin.

Hehe, linkin park....oh wow.

As far as headliners go it's a pretty bloody good line up.

What are tix worth this year?

$160, best bdo lineup in a few years, soundwave still outdoes it, so excited
You can't go wrong for $160 when you consider if you went to Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink 182 or even Offspring by themselves it would set you back $100+

sorry bad news, actually $187 AJ confirmed last night, plus $2 transport levy if you live in nsw or wa

Yeah with that lineup i think they've done enough to justify the ticket prices and probable sellouts. But they need something different on the heavier side of things.

Wtf is Fozzy playing, isn't he Aussie hip hop? So stoked about Metallica being there. My favourite band in the world. When I saw them in 2010 I reckon I was still had a grin from ear to ear about a week after seeing them. Anthrax and Kyuss Lives! will also be awesome, will be good to see them with Belladonna

The GNR fanboi in me is happy to see Duff make the trip, and whilst underwhemling compared to this year, its still not a bad lineup

...what the ****? name me a better line-up for a festival in australia. jesus christ how picky can you be? the line up is amazing.
We have different taste in music.

What is amazing to you, isn't to me. It's quite simple.
