I thought he already signed. His name has been thrown around for months as if it was a done deal.
Yeah thought the same. Maybe he was a chance as a SSP on an AFL list

It's funny I thought the reason we lost Caleb Datson to the Budgies was as swap for Ruscoe and that happened weeks ago.
Transfer office closed over Christmas??

Can anyone explain this?

Most WAFL coaches are local guys, and most AFLW coaches are too.

How the hell did they lure him over?

I know Souths are a very financially sound club but how does this happen?

He is a consultant. To me it sounds more like they will fly him over a couple of times a year to spend a week or two with the WAFLW program rather than being here in a full time capacity.

We are honoured to recognise Tony Morley for his outstanding contribution to South Fremantle Football Club and WA Football!

A dedicated and resilient player, Tony embodied the spirit of the Bulldogs throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s. From his humble beginnings in Kwinana to his remarkable career at South Fremantle, Tony’s impact on the club and the game is undeniable.

Tony’s football resume speaks for itself:

  • Played from 1971 to 1981
  • 200 Games & 158 Goals
  • 6 x State Player
  • Club Captain (1978)
  • Runner-up Fairest & Best (1972, 1976, 1977)
  • Premiership Player (1980)
  • Represented WA in the inaugural State of Origin match (1977)
  • South Fremantle Hall of Fame (2015)
  • South Fremantle Life Member (1981)
For a young man who once told his Dad, “If I play one League game, I will be rapt,” Tony’s journey is a testament to hard work and perseverance. A true clubman, his legacy extends beyond the field, having also made a significant contribution to the Kwinana football community.

Best memories of the Club:
“A great place to be, wonderful people, fantastic players, and an incredible environment that remains special to this day.”

Best players played with:
“Stephen Michael was amazing, Benny Vigona the most skilful. Maurice Rioli, Noel Carter, Joe McKay, and so many more.”

Best opponents:
“Too many to name, but Phil Kelly, Keith Narkle, Alan Johnson, Mick Jez, and Alan Reid stand out.”

Where is he now?
Now residing in Rockingham, Tony enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family, which includes 15 grandchildren.

Decent hit out last Saturday against Subi, better watching that than the shite produced at Kardinia Park that's for damn sure.
I was on the wrong side of the country!

In all seriousness I must say I'm shocked he's not suiting up.
Same, though I'd heard somewhere that he thought his body wasn't up to it anymore.
