Its still to do with money. They are mercenaries.

FYI: Balwyn president Richard Wilson will be on SEN with KB after the news (at 11am). They have had the president of Heidleberg on (Trevor Barrot) as well as Ken Gannon from FV. Should be interesting with the appeal set for tomorrow night......

 Well guys did you hear what Balwyn pres said, apparently SFL have withdrawn their refusal for Balwyn to leave and are free to go if FV decide to let them go,what are peoples thoughts on this, personally dissappointed to see them go,they will struggle to win 6-8 games and within 2 years will be in division 2

Like I've said before most of the clubs couldn't care less if they were to leave.
They are rude ********ers with little time for anyone else and do not support other clubs after games by coming up for a drink.
Also the only club that doesn't clean the club rooms after games in Div 1 and the SFL doesn't need them at all.

I say let the "millionaires" ******** off to the eastern league were they'll be no good and find it too hard, by then they might fold.

harsh but true.:D

obviuosly the sfl feel that they will be no worse off without Balwyn. i think this is a good sign from the league. ther new board may just have things rolling in the right direction.

I totaly agree let them go it's a show of strength from the SFL,start establishing clubs for the long term future it's the only way to go.If that means 2 strong Divs so be it quality not quantity should be there agenda.

HamptonHammer how are you going to go this year. Is Barr going to be assistant. I used to play with him Irymple..

Early doors but quietly confident that we will take the next step and make finals this coming season. We missed last year by 3 and a 1/2 games and lost 5 or so games by under 2-3 goals. I think with an increased depth, a few more recruits and the playing group continuing to gel better together that we will be better. Time will tell.

As for Chris, he has been appointed playing assistant coach again and if it weren't for his 6 week neck injury absence last year would have had a great season. He will improve playing wise and with the hopeful inclusion of one of his brothers I am sure he will be better in 2007. His coaching side of things is first rate and he and I get on very well.

Looking forward to our first hit-out tonight!

Weeds played at Doveton Eagles 2005 then went to Lyndale 2006 had a consistant year, obviously either Doveton Eagles or Sandown are sniffing around him, this time of year every club has some players there chasing it's a wait and see game.

How many Parkmore players have gone with Houston to St.kilda city, obviously Cassett is one being contracted to Houston directly,if they dont go to City are they staying at Parkmore,or have they all gone there own way, such players as mclean, mccarthur, mckinley, issaccs and handfield would be good pick ups.

not sure, i think its only casset. as for the others mckinley is nearly 40 and well past his best, isaacs is a div 1 reserves player at best (like when he was at clayton), and i dont know too much about the rest.

Looks like the death knell for Parkmore has sounded, especially with the appearance of Jefferies as coach or money man you may want to call him!!

Also, Balwyn will be in the EFL in 2007 - confirmed last night.

McKinley,too old
Mclean,Hampton Park
McArthur maybe 1 more good year left but in lower grades
Isaac wher ever the money is biting (Country footy)
Handfield over rated:rolleyes:

Now with Balwyn gone will the league put tooronga up to first divi, canterbury stay in 2nd what about the future of a few other clubs clouded, such as parkmore the money gone, sth mornington trying to go to the amatures, sth yarra trying to reform (huge mission) will three divisions be viable. It doesnt look good.

Dingley are coming into Div 2, so Div 2 will have an even 10 teams after one goes up to replace Balwyn. This is as long as Parkmore survives. There isn't a need for Canterbury to go to Div 2 at this stage.

The SFL website is currently claiming 28 teams in 3 divisions. Perhaps this will be a 10,10,8 split across the 3 divisions.

After asking a mate,StKilda City have not approached or spoken to any player that played with Parkmore,D Cassett comes with the coach who is bringing Ryan Hendy from Doveton, also Adrian Newman from Corowa is Assistant Coach, they are the only 3 signings confirmed, they are hopeful of singing 2 or 3 more prior to xmas, they are having a very controlled approach to the season, I think they are being selective in what players they require and rumors of mindless recruiting and raping and pillaging other clubs is way off.Any news on Fia Tootoo or Mimo Dimachki heard they are looking at playing Div 1 next year.

My sources told me as late as last night the decision on both Balwyn & Heidelberg is yet to be confirmed Wednesday nights meeting did not produce a confirmed result, both clubs are awaiting the final decision possibly today?

Very interesting the SFl claiming 28 sides only so who are the outs, care to speculate.Balwyn,Nth Kew,Sth Yarra seems to have players but no ground to train on!!!,Sth Mornington have they officialy applied to move,Parkmore they have a coach who apparently splashes the cash so they might survive any others.

Wouldnt expect city to rape other clubs they know what they want obviously they have got the right recruiting people who will get the right players that they need ,they will definately be the team to beat without are dought, they are a vey well run club, odds on to win the flag next year.
