Skye had there last training last night before the xmas break and very interesting to see a guy down ther named tim barr.Would be a handy pick up!
Maverick,

If that's true, then Tim Barr would be a missive pickup. Not so sure that Hampton Hammer would be pleased, especially as both his brothers are there now, they would've thought they would've had a stronger pull to lure the kid.

So what's the likelyhood of him donning the red & balck, was there much discussed with the young fella and did he give any indications. (if so, you read it here first... see post #846 by yours truly).

I must admit I am suprised, very suprised, especially considering Parkdale were also having their last training seesion for the year last night, but it's still early days.

I think the other family connection may have something to do with it.

Good get if he signs, tell me Top Gun shall we call off the season now and hand you the cup, you guy's seem to think it's a formality " Stroke that Ego"

Your a Fool Lionssleeptonight, no way in hell is it a formality!! God strike me where in december, so much could happen between now and the start of the year!!

All I hear is jealous envy coming from your corner, whatever corner that is, tell me who do you support/play for??

Maybe Cat, isnt he corey's brother in law or something like that???

How is Sandown going, any word on the Kreskas situation, maybe from prophet?? I gather the silence from the sandown qaurters means bad news!!

Somehow I dont see a bloke accepting the senior assitant coaching job just too take of 2 months later!! Makes no sence to me??

My souce says he is getting upset with the numbers at training and can't see any big signings in the wings. Doesn't want to have another year where he cops a flogging every week. But who would want that!

He is better off at Dandy and backing Rae in the fights.

Or much better off in the Ammos where he would be a gun.

Thats a pity if true you do have good connections there,Robbies a good player will be a better player in a good side,I'm sure Mick will pursued him in staying big loss if he can't.

Mick would need to get a few big recruits very quickly. And also have a look at the entire structue at the club.

I agree, you need to have a forward plan and stick to it,Clubs are very weary to change, it takes a good 3 years to turn Clubs cultures around and the one's that don't want to change end up going any way.Recruiting becomes the issue how do you sell the Club, i know iv'e had many a broken promises over my time.:)

Just wondering if anybody would like to name names of players who they think will either improve or have a break-out year for their club next season?

I know some clubs out there might not want to do this to keep their "secret weapons" hidden for a surprise assault on the season to come!

Any thoughts anyone??

Good question. How do you sell a club? Is it facilities? A strong committee? The lure of money? The chance of a premiership? A good coach? Good history? A combination of the above? Or do guys just want to play with their mates? For no money!

East Brighton. Hope and Hislop. Will improve, but still won't beat St Kilda with ther who's who of SFL footy!

From Skye I would Say Mark Frizzel will be the big improver, along with Clint Liardet An Macca McGill.

I predict these guys to continue on there improvements from last year!!

Money seems to be the only real Universal Language!! Look at Parkmore last year. Clubrooms terrible, Facilitites not that Good and History, well I'm tipping there 2005 season wasnt a selling point!!!

Its very Rare you get that Player who just wants to play for free with his mates but is a Gun!! When you get that Player, you must hold onto them!!

Facilities who cares as long as the woman are looked after, playing with mates is a big one, playing under a good coach is important if your not happy with him you'll go and so will your mate,Money well yer it's important 2 some but not all,a chance to win a flag is what you aim for so thats important,a good working committee always helps and the history, well you can't change the past but you can certainly create your own history.Sorry for the dribble boy's.

M-Lion.. With so many young guys down at your club, who will be the big improvers or have a break-out year next season? You must have a few young kids ready to step up after a year of successful progression?

Im very lucky with the young blokes a good crop of fellas, not in any order these guy's will improve even more, C Jeffries has a hard job every week will enjoy a bit of freedom next year,B Owens what he lacks in polish he makes up with aggression 1%,B Phillips we might just see the best of him next year 1 year exp would of helped him, C Kirkup he just has to relise how talented he is iv'e got the patience for him,the big improver will be J Mayer big strong and willing to listen and learn. There's a couple of more like i said i'm very lucky i just hope they don't think it will come easy.

Well as long as you keep drumming it into them that hard work and a high work rate is the key and they should do fine.. I played a few games for Nth Kew last year but couldnt play a full season due to work committments and injury.. and I played against you guys (Mt Waverley) in the reserves last year.. and I played on a kid who just towelled me up!! the kid looked 19 or 20 but played beyond his years and even your older players were looking up to him and relying on him heavily in that game.. he wore number 30 and has a very accurate left foot.. by the end of the game we had 2 guys trying to stick with him.. i remember this game cos it was my last and I thought i would finish the season with a bang!!.. but unfortunately not :( hopefully this kid is sticking around your club?? I remember him saying to me he had come straight out of U19's from the Ammo's.. Unless this kid is one of the kids you mentioned earlier??

Sorry to disagree with you, but facilities do help to recruit, as well as committee and good coaches. Example, Cheltenham, Highett, Tooronga. All good facilities and seem to recruit well. Sandown, Dandenong, and Doveton are ordinary. No recruits of note. There players just seem to rotate through each club on who has the money that year.

Yer another young fellow,Jason came down from DLS good mates with J ,Mayer he has potential,if he does the work on the track will certainly be given every chance to play seniors.

I'm sure everybody already Knows but here are the Latest Rumours are Modiallocs Recruiting....

According to this source (I'm pretty sure you guys know) The Recruits heading to Mrdialloc are Ogier, pigeon, and castle are definites at mordi. Connellon was having a meeting with edi on tuesday But could also play. Ben Walker and Scott Langford also from Edi but the Big one is Claude Samperi who is a massive Gun!! Supposebly some players from Hampton Park also venturing down!!

If Mordialloc get all these player they will play Finals!!

If they get Half these players then they will be a very strong chance to play finals..

I hope it works out for Mordi, if they get these players, no doubt they will get more who follow!!

I know Ben Walker if he goes will most likely take his Brother Jamie who plays for Us, I have been trying to contact him for weeks, I am hoping this is not the reason he hasnt rang me back!!!

Mad Man, just ran into Roder's on a building site. Asked him about the new recruits. He was being coy about it to seems like a bit happening. POT has been training he told me. Also, said he spoke with Cam Jansen today and reckons he is 100% training with Skye tomorrow night. Interesting to see

Madman, just wondering if Jansen did attend training??????

Is Brendan confirmed,he played at Nyora last year with his brothers and a couple of mates,Brendan,Sloppy and Bogga trained at Mount on Tuesday nights.

You can probably pencil is another young gun by the name of Horler who is thinking of going to join his brother down there.

Won an u19 B&F last year by a street, would be a walk up start to their side as an on-baller. Very classy.

Have Mordy got the money for all these blokes or will they organise IOU's like they used to?
