From what I've been hearing Claremont will be lucky to have a team next year, have had less than a handful of players at training, no coach, president stepping down also.

What happened to the coach they announced in like October ?

If they couldn't get players back last year for the big 100th year then I can't really see much changing this year, seems very grim up there unfortunately.
High time that club was absorbed into or taken over by the junior club if it continues that way.
Probably the only chance of a Claremont team remaining a viable proposition and playing footy, sadly.

Not to overlook the fact Glenorchy snap up the better CJFC kids as it is.
Well the kids would surely want to play at the best level possible to test themselves. Was TSL, now it’s Premier league.

It’s the fact they don’t go back. You hear bad things about what happens up there off the field. Maybe that’s why.

My comment was in relation to the earlier comment saying CJFC should take over CFC - that post implied all the players would stay on board in such a situation, I was posting that it was most unlikely to happen.

I think you and I may’ve discussed this previously on here - Glenorchy pounce on Claremont Juniors at approx the 15 year old mark as for many years they’ve had none of their own juniors coming through.

Hard to blame Glenorchy for this approach - the alternative is folding, which they came horribly close to the other year.

Anything to report on the state of the community league u18s as yet?

I've heard Huonville could go from 2 in a row to not having a team, Hobart are having a good crack at a team as are lindesfarne.

Anyone confirm, deny or add to this topic.

Also been chat of u18s combining if community u18s don't get enough teams, anyone else heard this?

Well I don’t see how that would work for premier clubs and their rosters. This is more reason that Cygnet should have gone to premier league.

Can’t see how under 16s Kingborough players who double up for storm 18s ( this happens alot) would then play against Kingborough 18s.

I reckon they get a 3-4 team comp.

Storm
Huonville
Lindisfarne
Sorell

Not sure it will matter with rosters as I would imagine the premier women's comp would take the 3rd time slot on a Saturday and push u18s to Friday nights and Sundays.

Not many of the kingborough u16s played with storm last year. A couple u18s but only when roster allowed it. There were u16s from Channel-Storm doubling up.

I hope it can be a minute 4 team comp. I think it's going to take a fair bit of work to get though.

I would hope between Claremont and New Norfolk that they could get a team. They have done it in the junior age groups u15s and u16s.

Apparently Hobart will have a thirds side, heard that from one of their players the other day.
