Not sure why everyone is on Dodges Ferry.. i heard on the grapevine that New Norfolk have only lost Ross, Martin and Cleary. They have gained former players Sam and Josh Hall, Zac Clayton , Zeb Graham , Kurt Styles and Jake Wessing. I hear Smith is giving young fellas ago up there aswell such as Horne ( brother of Leigh ) , Lester , Adams and Stone.. ill be folling my beloverd Glenorchy boys again this year but i cant see anyone coming close to the eagles..

Don't think Josh Hall played at New Norfolk last year, but where has Ross gone, which one is indeed leaving, and I heard Brett Booth was going to try his luck in the TSL with Hobart?

Agree. Danny Ling won't let any arrogance or laziness get into the senior group. You have to be switched on all year if you want to beat NN in September.

Fridays teams are going to be a very interesting read.

sam miller unlucky out for d.f 1's kicked 4 in losing g.f last year trained most pre season and well!!, 2's puled up a bit short 3-4 blokes that turned up just this week got games llucky for them a few last min 1's injuries:(, hows all other teams shaping up for round one??

brent dolliver has been a standout the last few weeks on the training track look for a big game from him this week!

also j.t.e, who's eligable for underage playing 2's hel go well (jack taylor-evans)

Who to feel more sorry for.

Sorell who have to face half of Lauderdale's Senior side tomorrow, or the close to 10 Triabunna locals who have been dropped to make way for them.

Totally against the spirit of any player exchange IMO, and an insult to the Triabunna guys who have supported the club from day 1.

Insult? You want your best 22 out there to win the game. Judging by the bunna's record last year, they could do with an injection of state league players. It will help those guys improve by playing with better players. Even if it means players have who been there from the start playing 2's this week. They can see the level they need to be at to win games in the sfl. Surely they know this will only benefit them?!?

Yep a complete insult, and if you can't see that then I can't help you.

Playing 10 players who won't play another game for the club, which was totally against the spirit of the intent of the rules that were brought in, as well as alienating blokes who have been there from the start = pathetic.

The rule was meant to help get a game for players not quite good enough for Seniors, but not eligible for the new Under 23's, not to get game time into the likes of Fitze and Co.

Agree with OzGuy re Bunna. Unfair for Sorell to have to go up against the likes of Fitze, Siggins, S Perkins, Brennan and Hudson etc. I definitely feel sorry for the blokes at that club who have been there through thick and thin but missed out on a game because Lauderdale wanted to get some of their players another hitout.

Would like to hear from Barge about how the Claremont/Norfolk game was. Thought Dodges were very disappointing in the first half. Ben Halton was very good early for Cygnet, easily beat Gabe Morgan (until they brought Dolliver onto Halton). Something interesting to come out of the game was Rick Martin spending a lot of the 2nd half on the bench. He is a monster. Took some great marks and kicked 5.4
Good to see the twos get up in Michael Wiggins 150th!

Way off the mark JS & OG. What would you have Lauderdale do with their reserve players?? They and East Coast (Triabunna) have entered into an agreement that benefits both clubs, i.e. all Lauderdale’s reserve players stick together and East Coast are able to field two teams. I am told by a very reliable source that the vast majority of players will be backing up again for East Coast next weekend bar 3 or 4. Same source also told me that all boys that done a pre-season got rewarded with a game. Only ones that missed out were late comers that includes Lauderdale based boys. I was at the game and no one was complaining that’s for sure. Blame AFL Tas NOT Lauderdale, they put them in this position.

Quite a few of the players that played aren't ressie players! Most of those blokes will play for them again next week bar 3 or 4? Fitze and Smith are walk up starts for Lauderdale this weekend. Brennan and Siggins both played every game in the ones for LDale last year. Paul Hudson won the bombers goal kicking from 10 games last year and Andrew Rae is probably the #1 ruckman for you blokes. East Coast also had another regular from Lauderdale in Jason Hyland.

If only 3-4 of them line up for Lauderdale next week then you blokes have certainly picked up more than what I thought!

Smith?? He didnt play. Fitze, Siggens and Brennan are 3 you would think. New ruckman recruited, Rae gone as he only started pre-season after x-mas, Hyland has been in USA for 3 weeks and Hudson still getting over injuries. 3 or 4 would pull it up. Think Hudson only played 1 qtr and got injured as he was all iced up on the boundry line. Checked best players from Ressies and they were all L/Dale players........ So if they didnt deserve a game they dint play them in the one's.:p

There was a Matt Smith on the team sheet. You'd have to be disappointed with your TSL boys only winning by 7 goals against the hapless Sorell :D

Not as disapointed as you would have been watching your SFL boys getting smashed by New Norfolk in last years GF.
