BACKS
S.fisher is a proven star down back. If hudghton and maguire can hold up for the year and baker can get back to his best and fairest winning form it will only free up fisher more and allow him to continue his top 20 in the afl form. It is also time gilbert and r.clarke, 2 players with plenty of potential, take another step and allow the coaching staff and supporters to show faith in them and feel comfortbale to turn to them when required.
MIDFIELDERSL.Hayes is the barometer of the midfield group and you just know what your going to get from him week in week out. The likes of dal santo and montagna need to simply play more consistent footy. Thier best is as good as anyone on our list and if we can get consistenly good output from them it will only help our forwards.Genrerally if dal santo and montagna play well...st.kilda win!however what looms as a master stroke is the move of goddard and gram to the guts.goddard has continued to improve and now is in the elite of the afl and a full season on ball will allow him to show how good he is.his ball use is better than anyones and if we can get him the ball forward of centre, he will really hurt the opposition.grams evasiveness and ball winning ability is crucial to our midfield.he breaks the lines and takes the game on.we have been criticised for being too slow in the guts and gram really compliments your hayes and ball types and gives us a great balance in the guts.on paper it's as good a midfield as any going around but they need to perform and live up to there reputation.
FORWARDS
N.Riewoldt is the best player in the afl. like hayes you know every week what you are getting from this gun.but he cant do it all.opposition temas know how good he is and how important he is to us and thus plan around him.this is why we need others to stand up....most notably kosi.this is koschitzke's last chance.he can mark and kick goals.all we need is he to consistently perform and prove to the rest of the team that he can do the job.this will ensure that the rest of the playing group isn't only riewoldt conscious and they will have faith to go to kosi.this will also bring the likes of milne and schneider into the game if the team is able to go long and direct to kosi.time to step up justin.ball has been named on a forward flank simply for rotations sake and tom lynch needs to be played.he has been touted as an okeefe type and we need him to lead up and present as a target.
INT:
blake is a great swing man and hole fitter who can play anywhere which is why he should be picked every week.
ray has pace.his skills need continual improvement but we need pace and he will be suioted to the dome so like blake should be played.
jones offers some zip and energy around the contest and proved last year that he can have bursts on the pill as well as up forward.
gardiner or mcevoy need to play.this way koschitzke can play as a permenant forward.moving him in and out of the ruck doesnt help him and his game so play two ruckmen with kosi as a permenant forward.gardiner is probably ahead of mcevoy but if he doesnt perform early in the yr, he will be straight out for mcevoy!
does anyone know how to give this to the coaching staff?
