St Kilda - miles off the pace

- Steven King should have retired
- Gehrig should have retired
- Luke Ball only a shadow of the player he once was
- father time might be finally catching up with Robert Harvey
- Dal Santo still a frontrunner

People read to much into one result.

Just because of this result does not mean the Dogs are top 4 material, and St Kilda suddenly aren't premiership contenders. I mean, that could eventuate, but you can't conclude so much from one game.

Doggies won, played better footy on the night, and deserved the win. Bit too early to be making definitive statements about anyone.

An average side.

many again taken in by their alleged premeirship credentials

Only idiots were taken in by that, you being one of them because not many saints fans took notice of these so called credentials.
Anyway enough of talking to clowns..
the Saints were too slow tonight whereas the Dogs are a good running side.
Bit of work ahead for Lyons.

Off to bed then Firey... You have been telling us all along that they werent much chop.. You must be happy you were right :thumbsu: :)

2nd favourites for the flag, ey?

If that is the second best team in the league then write Geelong on the cup right now.

It was only one game but from my vantage point at the game, the Saints looked slow and didt seem to have much clue about getting it into the forward line.

With the height advantage they had down forward they should have been kicking it long at every opportunity but they appeared content to chip it around and spot up the lead.

As I said, it was one game but if they dont improve I cant see them being a top 4 side.

Dogs top 4?
Its definitely possible.

Definately possible. Most people picked them for top 4 in 2007, after their impressive 2006. They had a bad year, but look to have bounced back at this stage. A very dangerous side. I'm pretty confident that we will lose to them, their style of play is our kryptonite.

Saints are easy targets for the likes of Carlton and Collingwood supporters. They have heaps more talent and it's just sour grapes.

Doggies played well tonight, and I'm rapt, but it's only round three.

Everyone seemed to think that the height of Riewoldt, Kozi and Gehrig would tear us apart. Riewoldt is a star, undoubted gun. Gehrig isn't the player he once was, Lake is more then a match for him. Kozi is a good player, but thats it. It amazes me that people think he is some star. Our forward line while not as big, is more dangerous then St Kildas. In the past they have beaten us as they have been better at winning the contested ball, tonight that wasn't the case
