He is both right and wrong at the same time.

Right that there are too many clubs in Melbourne so the smaller VFL clubs are always going to have to make up the numbers in a sense. And there is no commercial incentive to have all of these clubs up at the same time or for long periods.

Wrong from the perspective that the Saints have had the worst drafting of any club in recent memory (which is why their list profile is god awful), have hired a coach who plays a brand of footy which isn't commercially attractive to the networks and are a club that gets significant financial contributions on par with the northern clubs to stay financially competitive.

Father Son is such an odd thing to whinge about given the randomness of it.

Sometimes it works out (Daicos x 2, Ashcroft, Hawkins etc), other times sons don’t want to play for Dad’s club (Dunkley, Marc Murphy etc) and other times they are just low risk busts (at Lions, Shane Morrison, Josh Clayton) and other times they don’t make the grade (Casey Voss and no doubt many others) or you have a lot of players having girls.

Doubt you’d also find many northerners complaining about NGA’s either for legitimate kids that clubs put development into like Essendon have done with the kid they’ll pick up.

Good on him.

F/S entitlements are a rort. Not only do you skip the draft which is meant to equalise the comp, you don't even have to pay the full price (in points). Bundling up junk picks for a Top 3 player is ridiculous.

The advantages they give clubs are excessive.

and the advantage of having a home grand final every year is excessive, quit your whinging

don't see him advocating for the grand final to be moved

The **** are you on about.

You literally won a grand final at a neutral venue like 3 days ago lmao.

Northern academies are an inequitable allowance. F/S is something 16/18 have access to, and in time GCS and GWS will get some F/S become eligible.

Port, Richmond, Melbourne, St Kilda and Freo are the only clubs that do not have advantages in the AFL.
List the advantages the rest have.

The Lions being able to draft Levi Ashcroft for a handful of beans this year is ridiculous. All clubs should have to pay fair value for their F/S selections.

It was ridiculous when Tom Hawkins was drafted at pick 41 in the 2006 draft and nothing has changed.

Apart from the stupid Nintendo points system they have concocted.

the system has changed, strange complaining going on

the competition is full of inequalities, Melbourne teams get the ultimate advantage of have a home grand final
Bullshit.

Having priority access to the best talent and getting discounts on drafting them is a much bigger advantage than having to travel a few hours for the grand final.
