Game should be at Docklands as it's St Kilda's home ground.
It's not like any fans are going to get locked out at Docklands.

St Kilda hosting a home final at the MCG is akin to if Brisbane were made to host a home final at Carrara, if GWS were made to host a home final at the SCG or if Sydney were made to host a home final at Giants Stadium.

I'd imagine MCG contracts are the reason. Wasn't there a deal done recently where they were owed a game. Week 2 will only have 1 game in Melb so that's probably the reason.

This is always an interesting debate, of course it comes up a lot for Geelong supporters. For me though, I think what we would want is much time on ground at the G preparing ourselves to move forward because if we end up facing the Pies, Melbourne etc - we'd want to be as ready as possible.

Playing at the MCG makes it feel more like a final, playing at Marvel where we usually play would make it feel more like another regular season game.

They play at Marvel and I think they go in favourites where as the MCG not so much

Pretty ridiculous but I think the same thing happened to the Dogs v Adelaide a while back

Not sure how they justify a Geelong home final ever again
