The comments on news.com.au are 100% positive and supportive of Zemanek. Yeah, that's a real reflection of peoples' opinions of him Wonder how many posts they've had to delete.
Lots of cold hearted people here, you all got sucked into the on-air persona didn't you, your acting far worse than he ever did. have a good look at yourselves.
EDIT: And in response to 'it was only a persona': I'm reminded of George Wallace. Wasn't actually a genuine racist, but because he didn't take a firm pro-segregation stance in his first bid for governor of Alabama in 1958 was defeated by a candidate with the support of the KKK. He ran in '62 as a staunch segregationist and won, decisively - and for the next ten years was the Pauline Hanson of American politics, even twice mounting a serious independent campaign for President on the back of ultra-right wing ideas. Of course, in the lates '70s he recanted and opened up politics in Alabama to minorities at a staggering rate, appointing the most black officials ever. As he himself and all those who knew him said, he wasn't a racist, he just did it because it was the issue of the day and the one that would get him elected - even if hew knew the destructive power of racism. Zemanek is no different. He made a living from not merely being controversial, but from doing his best to find and exploit the worst in human beings, no matter how bad those things were. As the Drive-By Truckers said in Wallace, there's a special place in hell reserved for that kind of person - and while I don't believe in hell, I think it'll be fair to say Zemanek will be forever remembered and condemended by most as the bigot and cynic he was.
But if you took Zemanek seriously then you were missing the point entirely.
If you ask me, that makes it worse.Zemanek was a stirrer.
Jones, Laws, Carlton and co. are not stirrers. They're serious.
George Wallace was a Governor - it's a post that requires you to take him seriously.
But if you took Zemanek seriously then you were missing the point entirely.
Stan Zemanek would host his program while delivering the radio equivalent of a wry smile or a wink to the audience. It was all just a laugh and a wind-up. Amazingly Lemmings kept lining up to get beaten over the head because they didn't understand that it was all one big p!sstake.
There are plenty of shock-jocks that deserve criticism for pandering to people's darker sides, but Stan Zemanek isn't one of them.

I don't see the need for the crowing over his death
If you ask me, that makes it worse.
If he genuinely believed those things, then he was just stating his opinion, and he can't really be faulted for that.
But if he doesn't then he's pure scum, attacking only the most vulnerable people and easiest targets.
Possibly. Abusing depressed people on radio is bound to cause a suicide or two.Did he kill anyone? People didn't have to listen to him
Better him than me (or any of us BF guys)
Everybody's day will come,I assure you.
