There will always be the odd missed free and people accept that will happen provided it's only occasional and relatively even. It's those soft frees to high profile players that should never have been paid that cause the most damage to the game, along with the inconsistency and sometimes the blatant misses like when gwarn dived onto Xerri's back and headlocked him almost to the ground before the ball was anywhere near being close enough to mark.

29 got a reprieve from last week and did nothing. Sat in the pocket all night.

This whole league is a joke. Missing the holding the balls, not paying the right free kicks, the Oliver one for diving, the May one for diving, the Windsor one for diving. Its just embarrassing.

Jack Riewoldt was calling for May to be charged for staging for that crap tonight. Kingy will be all over it as he called for players to be honest when it comes to all things concussion related.

The ump calling that a dangerous tackle was utter shyte but he appears to have taken a cue from May turning his own head into the ground then holding it like he’d been king hit ffs.

Umpiring was again really bad but at least they were terrible both ways, which is infinitely less frustrating than the shambolics of last week and other games this season when opposing teams were routinely getting double the free kicks.

The league said they’d make quicker decisions - this league is incompetent.

Go back to 3 umpires as a lot of these umpires don’t want to make the hard decisions

Along with PC blowing a puff of air on clarry who went down like... and the Jy "dangerous" tackle, the Maxy jumper pulls on X and to top to off, the piggyback ride that was somehow missed despite it being as obvious as the nose on yer face... OMG there will always be some minor misses but the really obvious ones are an insult to the sports industry in general.

They have made so many adjustments to the rules of the game, all with the intention of speeding the game up, that it now requires 4 umpires to keep up. The impact of that has seen what was already a difficult task become even harder. 4 umpires, 4 interpretations, 4 times the propensity for umpire error. The result is the dogs breakfast we have today and imo, that all rests at the foot of the Rules Commitee. Just stop ****ing with the rules.
