Polak was an outstanding forward as a juniour, and was originally drafted as a forward. However he kept getitng played down back mostly for the Dockers

Agree - he is the best contested mark I have ever seen as a junior. Kicked 6 goals in a WAFL match as a 16 year old. Unfortunately he can also play CHB so he will never see the forward line with the likes of Richo, Kingsley, Shultz, Pattison who can't play down back, plus Gaspar is on his last legs. Similar problem at Freo with Pav, Longuir, Mundy, Wiz etc.

Real shame, this guy could be one of most dominant CHF's we've seen for a while but we won't get to see.

No but when you have not had much sleep and are force to still go to work as everyone wants their jobs finished before Easter, and the Dentist pumps you full of pain killers you tend to miss a key or two. Was the point I was getting too.

Great after getting so many spelling errors on this thread so far I'm going have to re-re-check all the work I did this morning.

Well, I had nothing else to add to the thread, so I thought I would be spelling police. I assume thats why everyone else does it.

I should have added a  at the end now that I think about it.

Truly Surprising Stat:
Number of players that have kicked a bag of 5 or more:

1. Bulldogs 10 players 44 times
2. Adelaide 9 players 36 times
3. Melbourne 9 players 74 times
4. Brisbane 8 players 51 times
5. Essendon 8 players 99 times
6. West Coast 8 players 14 times
7. Pies 7 players 20 times
8. Fremantle 7 players 51 times
9. Kangaroos 7 players 26 times
10. Richmond 7 players 81 times
11. St.Kilda 7 players 59 times
12. Hawthorn 6 players 27 times
13. Port 6 players 33 times
14. Sydney 6 players 59 times
15. Carlton 5 players 43 times
16. Geelong 3 players 6 times:eek:

These stats are based on looking at team lists and the amount of times players on those lists have achieve the feat. The only Cats players to have done so are Ottens(never as a Cat) Gary Ablett Jr & Steve Johnson.

Re: Stats That Surprise You.

In each of 2002, 2005 and 2006 Carlton won more wooden spoons than games on the road.

In the last 5 years they have won 3 wooden spoons but only 1 game outside Melbourne. What a joke of a club

Re: Stats That Surprise You.

Upset about the loss big fella?

Seems Richmond are going to win more wooden spoons then games this year too....
That being 1

Kinda shows he was doing most of the work for his team at the time.
But if Collingwood had more dominant midfielders during that period to share the workload would Buckley have averaged so high?

I mean it doesn't really matter because it's a great achievement, but one ponders!

I would say it showed when he peaked... But your question has merit.

Is the same meant to apply to Scott West over his time as such a dominant player?

It's all good dude, it has more to do with the fact I feel the fool for mis spelling some simple words than getting picked on. :thumbsu:

Bit of a mix i reckon, if we had better players around him the team may have won the ball more often, less focus would have gone to stopping Buckley as had to stop more then one bloke

in 2003 he 'only' averaged 27 or so, yet he won the brownlow that year because the pies won more games

LOL best post ever. Coming from a Richmond supporter after the weekend.:D

Re: Stats That Surprise You.

Not really a stat, but Carlton did their 3.2km time trial around Lance Whitnall this preseason.

Daniel Bradshaw plays mostly as a full forward, not a CHF. Unsure as to the great Gary Lyon either

The rest are pretty spot on though

Agreed with Bradshaw now but when Lynch was still playing he played further up the ground.

Lyon played everywhere where we needed help, which was pretty much all over the ground :(

I'm amazed that that surprises you, most demon fans realise he's shiite.

For whatever reason TD also tried to make him a CHB which didn't help his cause. Richmond cop alot of grief over their poor KP Backline but I wouldn't think that the Nicholls, Miller combination of a few years ago would have struck fear into the hearts and minds of many forwards.
