Use him as part of trading for Weideman if we can entice him across.

Absolute champion of the club and been a truly great player to watch and enjoy over the years.
Inevitably, he is in the twighlight of his career now and for guys who are small and not overly quick, that can be a terribly short sunset at times.
He still runs all day, both ways, he still accumulates, still puts in and still does the hard work. It's just that it's not coming off as much as it used to, he is getting caught quite often -when once it was almost unheard of. He's not hitting the scoreboard as much as he did. He's no longer kicking those clutch goals from open play, right when we needed one and he just isn't able to impact the game like he'd want.
In a good side, we'd carry him along for a season and a bit, in a side with too many kids, too many injuries and not enough experienced elites, Sidey's demise might come faster then we think.
And yes, I am a fan.

Play him solely as a half forward. If he doesn’t want a contract commensurate to his value to us for 2022 he can retire or walk.

For what, a half eaten sausage roll?
At the moment his form doesn’t warrant much at all, I agree with that.
However a club on the cusp, needing hardened finals performer will be pay over the odds for a player they believe they can get back to playing better footy. Sometimes a change of scenery can do the trick, as can joining a better team where you don’t have to do all the heavy lifting.

It’s like watching Sidebottom’s doppelgänger whose best footy was in the Manangatang 3rds. He is a shadow of the player we’ve known him to be. Quite sad really.
