yeah but now all the stubbies are brewed local as well.

First Ive heard of it, and if its happening its just new and its still not all. We have a warehouse at work that stores around a million cartons of beer, with around 15,000 cartons of Stella (3 weeks supply) and every single one of them is imported.

Really, Dicey ?

Sounds like a pretty cool job sitting around and drinking for a job, can you get me a job like hers please ? :thumbsu:

I dare say drinking 6-10 coronas everyday wont help you in your journalistic endevours Ben (hmm, then again....), the bosslady is the only one who gets to drink, us plebs have to wait till shifts are over, and now Im on a probabtion licence after having lost it once before, I dont even have the after work drinks :(

One bonus is Ive already noticed a weight reduction. 2 biggest reasons for weight gain are alcohol and cheese.

I gotta stop drinking, anyone whose met me will atest that I'm not overweight ( pushing 70kg's haha) but I'm starting to notice the mutterings of a beer gut... just a little extras, nothing big... but it all starts somewhere.

Mind you, I drink more beer per week than I drink water, by far. I should move onto vodka or something.

I reccomend losing your licence, then waiting for it to come back as a Probation licence where you cant drink. You may have to wait 6-12 months for the plan to take effect, but it certainly cuts back the drinking.

Stella Artois is only brewed (under licence) by CUB in it's draught form. That is kegs. All bottled Stella Artois is imported from Belguim and generally tastes like crud.
Bottled Stella is a fair beer. Keg Stella is far too sweet. CUB caters to the lowest common denominator - their "Stella" "product" (both words in inverted commas) is aimed at VB drinkers who want to drink a "premium imported" beer. Much like Crown Lager being aimed at Carlton Draught drinkers.

Budovar is at my local for $15 a six pack. Praise the Lord!

Budovar is a Czech pilsener. Last time I had one was in London over 10 years ago, haven't seen it in Australia since.

Anyoneo tried or discovered any good imported beers this weekend?
This evening I had a couple of stubbies of Pacena - a Bolivian beer. Very good, once again beating the crap out of the Carlton Draughts of the world.

Yeah fair call, I was wrong you were right. I got up my boss about it yesterday and she had no idea. She got on the blower to head office and they confirmed it too.

She apologised for giving out wrong info and promised to lift her game... Then she offered me a Stella and I said "I aint drinking that rubbish, gimmee a Carlton".

Mate, Stella is just a popular brand with the Metrosexuals and Girlieboys atm.. Its a very ordinary beer but people with some kind of insecurities who live vicariously through their clothing labels feel that the Stella Artois name sounds a lil posh and it fits their image.. Superficiality over quality.

Carlton Draught is a good bottom cost beer, and Id rather pay 2 bucks a pot for my Carlton than 5 bucks for a label that tastes like someone pooed in the Tuns.

A bit of a heads up for the beer collectors/drinkers here; for the Commonwealth Games, Fosters will be releasing- for the first time ever- Crown Lager in Draught and should be available at all Games bars during the events... Not sure if this will spread out to include pubs in melb or around the country yet though.

ALSO, a special edition Crown Lager stubbie will be available from limited bottleshops, this version will have a silver logo.... I'll try and sneak a pic when they're coming off the bottling line ;)

1-I'm neither a Metrosexual or a girlieboy.
2-I will say i once liked Carlton Draught and Fosters etc.but when i travelled OS i became a fan of non-australian beers,Stella,Heineken, Elephant Beer etc.
3- There are a few 'imported beers' i wouldnt touch with a metrosexual's richard-eg Budweiser[american version].
4-As for tasting 'like someone pooed in the Tuns'try XXXX.

Are you giving us metros and girlieboys a hard time, Dicey?

Really did think we were mates and these sorts of comments really do to seem as though you are suggesting otherwise.
