Fremantle , Good work on picking up Hilly and I will be purchasing a membership just so i can see him play next year He will give you all his heart and talent.

It's pretty clear here who has and hasn't watched a lot of these guys play. Rich couldn't run out a game - from insiders at Subi, should have been dropped half way through the year, for poor performance, but wasn't for draft reasons. And sheep dogged it in a team so dominant it wasn't funny. Even then he couldn't get much of the ball.

Hill doesn't have huge stats because of the various roles he played. Tagger, HB and back pocket as well as in the middle. His accountability and his preparedness to use his athleticism to run defensively and to be damaging on the attack was obviously a massive plus which other, seemingly lazy players like Rich just couldn't match.

It's not often someone with such brilliant athleticism is prepared to be a two way runner. Is just the sort of player the club seems to want at the moment. Accountable, and unselfish.

I second that,Hilly is a very unselfish player I can't wait until he has settled into his new club....Then we'll see what sort of a real player he is and maybe some ppl out there will eat there word's...GO HILLY We Love You....

I agree, Hill will give his heart and soul to the Fremantle football club.
They did not make the wrong decision of going him over Rich, I think it was quite a good choice.

The games I saw of Hill, he was amazing.
One of the games he was a but quite, the GF of the under 18 championships.
But when you watch it closely and see how much he does off the ball, it is quite remarkable.

One of his highlights of that game was running from the back pocket and to score a goal from 55 metres. Not only has an amazing acuarate kick, his speed is great too.

He is a bit skinny, but over the pre-season if he gets some meat on him, I believe he could be the new superstar of the AFL.

Pretty much. The only true bust I can remember off the top of my head has been Ryley Dunn, from a shit draft.

Our drafting is comparable with most teams. Our trading has been what has cost us.

That was the whole point.

I still get into arguments about our trading against my own supporters if you want to look deeper...

I think my bombers have drafted possibly the worst over the last 5-6 years, we just havnt been able to get enough guns in with our top picks (eg: top 20). We have had B.Stanton who seems to be our only decent pick up for the worth of the pick.

What do dons fans think about the bombers terrible drafting in last 5 or so years??

I think D.Myers, Houli, Hurley, Zaharakis will all become very good players and we did well this year with first 2 picks but couldve got better late picks!!

You're kidding,

Monfries finished 6th in the club B&F this year to cap off a year in which he improved from being a fringe player to being a permanent fixture in our best 22.

Dempsey is immensely talented and every time he actually gets on the park he has shown why he was taken with the #19 pick back in 2005. Give him time, he be a great player.

monfries at pick 6 or was it 14 i would want a genuine gun. Came 6th in B&F because we didnt have anyone play a solid year of footy besides Stanton.

Dempsey has missed so many games and just hasnt given anything to the club yet and hes been their for 3-4 years, he has talent i dont argue that but can he show it in an entire season.

I dont think don fans should bag freo because we have drafted just as poorly plus freo have had Haselby and Palmer win both rising star awards in the respective years.

Monfries was a late first rounder, yes there were "better" genuine midfielders taken later, Adcock being one, that selection was fine. I have more an issue with Bradley and Hislop as one is a spud and one always had discipline problems. Lukily for recruiters we drafted Houli and Remiers with late picks in that draft.
