Wow => Sounds like Mick Malthouse Part 2.

How about we act like a responsible organisation and give people roles that they are actually allowed to do, and work together as a team at all levels of the club.
The coach should have a say in who we pick, but the coach should not be a dictator.

Don’t totally agree with all of this
Coach should say what type of player required not who that’s what recruitment team is for

Setterfield doing incredibly well for young kid coming back from a knee.

McGovern needs to get fit and he will

Cuningham close to exploding

Dow and O’Brien need to be AFL fit and strong which will be focus this pre season

Stocker & Walsh will be guns

I’m excited about SPS off HB

McKay & Charlie will be stars and TDK to come

Weitering is already a top line KPD

Can’t wait to see Williamson Docherty Pickett all fit and firing

And there is a lot more

Take the blinkers off mate

No, we misread the lay of the land.

By gutting the list to such an extent there was always a risk we would get to be this bad, and the way things are now with free agency and multi year picks, players get to where they want to go, and where they want to go isn't to a side which wins less than 10% of their games over a 2 year period with little chance of that changing for at least another 2 years.

Unfortunately there was virtually nothing to 'gut'.

Holman, Gowers, Lamb, Kerridge we arguably should have kept. Gibbs walked out. Dochertys knee is a disaster. Tuohy was a contentious one. Did we lose anyone else of value since Silvagni came on board?

I ask this question with legitimate curiosity:

Lets say, 3 years from now, Carlton is exactly in the place it is right now, at the bottom of the ladder or close to it.

At what point would you guys, as supporters, have to get to to say maybe S.O.S hasn't done a good job, and maybe the problem isn't the coach. Thus, S.O.S, Judd, and the existing Carlton board need to be moved on.

Genuinely interested to hear opinions from supporters as to what constitutes a point that passes the limit of where performance outcomes are no longer deemed acceptable

If this list hasn't shown significant improvement by the end of next year I am sure even us SOS admirers will begin to feel worried. I would say end of 2021 will be the tipping point.

Thus, S.O.S, Judd, and the existing Carlton board need to be moved on.

Calling for Judd's head is absolutely ridiculous. You've been swept away by the media's tall poppy syndrome.
Officially, Chris Judd has been on the Carlton board for 18 months and is not in an operational role. Not sure what radical moves he could have made to avoid this. He assisted in hiring Bolton which has clearly failed, but plans laid by even the greatest of leaders can fail.

Regarding SOS, it's being widely agreed upon that most punters would rather take over at Carlton than North because of our young talent (SOS' work). So why is no one calling for the head of North's list manager? Cause 95% of people have no idea who it is, meaning it doesn't make for good radio or funny memes.

Neither deserve to be exempt from criticism, but sacking them is not the answer.

Why because he was considered a 'negative nancy'?

This is why you guys should drop this bs gathering of pitch forks and pointing them at anybody who dares say something negative...

The team is falling apart on field. You can give reasons and a lot of them are valid, but you can't give valid reasons as to why there's no improvement after last year.

He wasn't happy with the coaches instructions, clearly, the club weren't either.
I get along quite ok with dib, you mind your own business and stop grandstanding.

Why do people keep creating theses strawman arguments that we all think SOS is God?

I’d sack him to be honest, but they won’t.

He hasn’t done everything wrong, he helped maximize high picks for us and we have a decent hit rate on those it looks like, but everything beyond pick 30 including trades have been terrible.

He misread the lay of the land thinking anyone would want to come to a side which is winning 1-2 games a season just because we have salary cap room.

Strategy may of worked in the priority pick days and prior to free agency/future year draft picks, but we are on the road to nowhere at the moment.

Once again we have tried a strategy past its sell by date.

Well we could of gone after more experienced types earlier and not cut as hard initially.

The types of experienced players we have gotten have tended to be the wrong type or position to what we need, seemingly just trying to fill up an age gap hole without really targeting the right players.

We should have kept Tuohy, and some of the replacing original list cloggers with new list cloggers just added instability and was seemingly done so SOS could claim the list was his.

He’s had too much power and should be gone.

But I also want the board gone as well.

But I also want the board gone as well.

It's a difficult discussion to have without knowing who was or wasn't willing to come to Princes Park. I agree with the views expressed that Silvagni has been
  1. Too 'all or nothing' with trade targets and should have done more to hunt mature b-graders ala Jarryd Lyons; and
  2. not willing to fork out the extra $$$ 'shit team premium' to get us over the line with our selected targets...
but it will always come back to the fact that 25 year olds don't want to spend their best years as meatshields for a struggling club when there's 17 other alternatives.

Bleak stuff. Would you have kept anyone other than Holman?

Barring a mass exodus, we won't be. Our talent and demographics will be strongly in our favour then.

In 3 years Eagles may be at the bottom or close to it. What will you do then?

Hard to envisage given we won the flag last year and are firmly in contention this year. But then again, look what happened to the bulldogs.

If that did indeed occur, I would imagine the coaching panel, recruiting team and eagles board would be subject to a full review. We have never been out of the finals for any sort of an extended period since our inception so I doubt our members would find keeping our existing team with such an outcome hard to fathom.

At the end of 2015 Carlton was league worst at everything.

We are an expansion club.

List is one of the least concerns at the moment.

You and Adelaide supporters drink the same soup, it will happen there's nothing surer.

Apparently we should have kept a lot of Boekhorst, Lucas, Menzel, Watson, Warnock, Foster, Giles, Everitt, Tutt, Graham, Jaksch, Whiley etc etc...and got a truckload of great picks to replace them with players of similar age. If only that was the real world of list management in our situation at end of 2015.

He calls it as he sees it, now the question is have you got anything to offer?

He obviously sees it through his rose coloured glasses.

SOS has done a shocking job with this list. He’s hit on a few high draft picks and basically nothing else. Picked up absolute dud DFA’s, made the worst trade in AFL history and whiffed on every draft pick outside the top 30 every year.

Move him on.
