Rumour Steven May up to his old tricks

Lynch has obviously had a word or two as pursuing the issue would involve his team mate Prestia becoming embroiled in the saga.

I wouldn't consider it unlikely for Richmond to have backed a truckload of money up to them considering how much they probably want to avoid bad PR given their recent track record.

So you supposed ITKs. Tell me something. How did the altercation start? What caused it? Or you can’t say that?
The alleged victims had girls with them and the players were hitting on them a little too much and made them a little uncomfortable. One was the girlfriend of one of the alleged victims and the younger one (18 - 20 range) that was the target of the advances was the sister of someone else in the group.

For fairness and completion, I will say, I have been told a very biased version of events. So someone more neutral would best to fact check the version I was told.

Heard he was making a fool of himself at a golf club down in the same area - he's a member & will likely see himself suspended by the golf club pending an investigation.

AFL star Steven May has been accused of participating in a wild street brawl in Sorrento which left a young electrician needing surgery on a damaged eye, police have been told.

Richmond’s Dion Prestia also allegedly participated in the fight over the Christmas holiday period involving about a dozen men after the two groups earlier exchanged words at a local pub...

Article somewhat implies May didn't actually do the damage to the guy, but geez why would you be so stupid as to be involved in this?
Sounds like the article is being purposely vague. I’d say they probably need to let the police investigate and lay any charges as necessary.

Seriously?

“There were words between my group and the other group for a bit ... then I saw Steven May yelling and screaming, ‘come on, let’s go’, and then I saw him punch (my friend) to the face and then it was on,” Salter said in his police statement made on January 23."

Contradicts the other statements that they just wrestled.

A lot of missing info in that article.

There probably is some information missing, but I didn't read the "they just wrestled" bit.
“May has said something like ‘well look who it is?’ when he approached the victims after leaving the Continental Hotel. He just came straight for Will’s friend. They shook each other a bit, and all of a sudden, the fight broke out,” the woman said.
The 25-year-old said he was certain the brawl had erupted after he and May began grappling.

Two of the witnesses including the one claimed to have had a direct altercation with May said that things escalated after the two began wrestling. Neither of those witnesses said he threw a punch. He might have but I find it odd that the apparent victim of said punch would leave that out.

Also seems like there a lot more witnesses who need to be questioned.

I'll say it.

If you kick and hit two blokes in the head so hard one of them starts fitting, the other has almost certainly permanent vision damage, and both spend long periods of time in hospital - the assailants are going to prison.

Given an eye-witness has already testified May threw the punch that started it - he is in serious bother.

That statement alone gets May jail time.

What's wrong with the bloke that he has to punch on all the time?

Contradicts official statements given to police or just contradicts statements made to media?
Obviously we only have the information as it's presented in the article.
