Stickers on road signs

I live around the Lilydale/Mooroolbark area and have lately started to notice stickers on roadsigns around the area. They are mostly orange and black giraffe heads (one full size giraffe at the rail bridge in Hull rd) and a few James Dean and Elvis ones. Does anyone know the story behind these? They are driving me nuts and the more I see, the more I notice, They could have been there for ages and I'm only just spotting them now.

has anyone seen the people who do a 'piece' on a sticker, and then they stick it on trains etc. Firstly i beleive grafiti, mainly the tags, are just disgraceful. They mean little, altough the really intelligent people who do them would like to argue otherwise. The only thing about doing a tag on a train etc, is that it takes a bit of guts to do it infront of others... even tho its still stupid. Now they just have these stickers that don't come off, because they are too soft to stand there and right there 'piece'. i would prefer they didn't do it, however they are allways going to do it, so they should have the balls to at least do it properly.

grafiti that is art however, where people use cans to draw those awesome pieces is a different story. Like wolverine b/w south yarra and richmond. i enjoy looking at those.
