Is the Stringer situation beyond repair? Now in its correct thread, even if nobody asked for it.

Both of my deals assumed you got 24 and 27 from the bombers. I was just looking for views on the proposed trades which relied on that assumption.

Your views on those two deals?

I would definitely do the second one from our perspective.
Taking two seconds from Essendon is stupid, we should walk away. But if we've been called on a bad bluff and have to take that deal, I'd be on the phone to you straight away. Which offer we would be more keen on would depend on how many list spots we have. If we are only taking three picks to the draft (one of which being a rookie upgrade), swapping three second rounders for 13 and a future pick works perrrfectly for us, and I'd imagine works nicely for you too. If we have another list spot available, then 13 for 24 and 27 (plus any small change we can rustle up) is wonderful too, as our three picks would be 9, 13 and 29.

Is 13 and a future third for three second rounders overs? Yeah probably, but if we're only taking two live picks, who cares? If we've dug ourselves into a massive hole re: Stringer and we were delivered from it by a trade like this we would be quietly very, very relieved.

Stick to NPR.

I came here to get away from all that crap. And other reasons, of course. The less I see of 'you know who' on TV the better my life is. Of course watching Stephen Colbert every night softens the blow.

So disappointed in that suggested Stringer trade. 2 x second rounders. That's shite.

Utter crap. Even if you add steak knives (say the future fourth we got from Freo for a future third, if Essendon had one), it's still diabolically bad. Even two second rounders plus our future third for an Essendon future second is shite.

We were already the trade table losers of this situation the moment the club decided to trade Jakey (I'd argue winning the intangibles like culture and harmony are much more important to future success), but to lose to that degree would be awful.

Upgrading to pick 13 would allow us to save face in the situation and make sure our two live picks are high, but I'd want to do the trade as a three way so we never had to actually confess that we swapped Jakey Stringer for two shitty picks in a weak draft.

I saw that as well. I laughed, but I tend to do that when I watch these guys flailing about trying to form smoke into a sellable narrative.
I have this image of them holed up in a small office somewhere, refreshing BF pages every minute or two in search of a scoop, a whisper ... or even a marketable lie.

Ouch! You should get a day off for tricking me into going there. I feel unclean.

Obvious reply was pretty obvious even by my low standards.

Be thankful I didn't Rick Roll you like it was 2009.

Can't see us taking 2 2nd rounders this year. If we r only taking 2 picks plus upgrading roarke we would of just taken pick 11 and gave them 26. As we would just use 9 and 11. Even if we get 2 2nd rounders and try and get 15 or something from Richmond pick 11 still would of been better. Quite a bit to play out for mine

It's reassuring to know that at least someone from your club can read.

I for one don’t hate Essendon, I just enjoy how indignant their supporters get about being the 21st Century shitheap club. Verrrry easy to wind up.

So what if Stringer does go there? They’re recruiting him as a midfielder. They still don’t get it. They think he’ll turn into Dusty just because they’re Essendon. But they’ll Jobe him.
for a team that destroyed a favorite son of the AFLs career in Jobe they certainly have lost no arrogance. I hope Stringer stays with the Bulldogs but can't see it happening. Not sure the Saints want Jake but hope he ends up at the Kangaroos..dogs need to stand firm here I rekon.
