Doesn't need to be, if he is a professional he will play out of his skin to get the most money he can at the end of the year. If he sits it out or plays VFL, he will get **** all money for himself.

I'd say if Essendon load up on Saad with pick 24 (which they should) then simply put we pull Stringer off the table.

Really nothing appealing is left and our options look scarce. Also it confirms that Stringer wasn't a priority at all to them and that in 12 months time is the best opportunity to patch this all up. Whether that be Stringer changing his off and onfield fortunes around, remaining the same, or jake completely walking out of the club remains to be seen, but it seems to me that now Jake should remain.

Not sure what the point would be to pull him off the table. Let Essendon stew on it and see what happens. And you never know who else might get a rush of blood at the 11th hour. Other trades might also get done that bring assets into play that nobody has factored in so far. And of course an opportunity for us might open up that might require us taking unders for Stringer to get a better deal done.

So I think we don't pull the pin at all unless it gives us a chance to make a big statement. At the moment it would make us look like we tried, had our bluff called and fluffed it.

I had heard we were trying to find a way to get our pick 9 turned into 5 or better. Not sure how we do it, would involve Jake in some form. Saints also trying to get a pick upgrade to around that, so there must be a player or 2 that will be around there that we like and so do the Saints.

It would have to be something like Pick 9 and Jake to Carlton for their pick 3, or to Norf for 4. Who's at pick 3/4 that would make that work for us? I'm not sure that's as good as say a pick 9 and say 11 had we done that deal? Are 2 picks inside the first 12 better than one pick at 3 or 4? There is a smokey in this draft I think who is likely to go between 3 and 6.
