traded daniel bradshaw after round 1 for nathan brown of collingwood in the back line to free up a bit of cash...not the best idea. then later trading nathan brown for michael osbourne who hasnt done anything.

another great aka crap back line trade was jarrad waite for steven dodd after round 3, at which point dodd was avergaing around 110. since then waite has scored 2 100's and dodd hasnt even pushed 65.

best trade of the year tho was ryan o keefe in for steve johnson after round 2. :thumbsu:

I've made one absolutely shocking mistake this year. I used my PerthNow side as a bit of a joke, experimented with a few guys I never would have chosen in my real team and indulged in some of my favourite players like Jonathan Brown who never had a chance of being picked in my real teams. The team was a who's who of shockers - Danyle Pearce, Jono Brown (god bless him), Daniel Gilmore, Scott D Thompson and co.

I didn't realise the competition was going to be so weak, I've had to burn 4 trades getting rid of useless deadwood. I am still in with a chance of winning, sitting in the top 15 at the moment, but if I'd gone in with a proper team I would have been odds on.

Trading Ablett out for Brent Stanton and some cash to upgrade elsewhere (the day of the lockout).

B Johnson, never picked him in previous years, dont know why i picked him this year.
Other regrets are most of my guns havent lived up to expectations,
oh yeah and Bowden, unbeleivable.

Thats a decent effort mate, Well done

The Bowden debacle really is unbelievable - I mean who really saw that coming? If there's one guy you thought you could count on to anchor your SC backline, it would be Bowden.

Waters what a waste of money

Newman i lost alot of money on him

Getting rid of J.Selwood for Priddis and Priddis getting injured the next week

Picking Nicoski ahead of Bradshaw and still not jumping on Bradshaw after 100's from him, and 30's from Nicoski. Ah.

Brad Johnson cost me a trade, but atleast my trade came off. Which was going with Richo two weeks ago and getting 171 and 121 from him.

1. Picking Dal Santo ahead of Ablett, had Ablett for ages then changed at the last minute.
2. Was going to downgrade Hill to McKinley and upgrade Gibbs to Ablett last week and decided to wait.

Will need some bad weeks from Ablett to get him now or most likely will bypass him for cheaper alternatives and i'll get knocked out of the league when my opponent has him as captain.

This weeks trade is turning out to be a bad one now:mad:
Traded out Salopek (Half time is on 90pts.):(
Traded in Ablett - Total 62pts.

Edit - F**K Salopek ended on 150pts. Talk about Backfiring on me this week
:eek::(:mad:

when you think about it, Salopek could not have been your worse midfielder.
...also in the long run, Ablett will still score more than Salopek.

Yeah in the long run it should work out ok & your right he wasn't my worst but stupidly jumped on the ablett bandwagon & it was either salopek or stevens as my worst mid was Houli & he didn't give me enough cash to do a single trade.
Also my son asked me about doing the same trade earlier in the week & I told him it wasn't worth it & then on Thursday I go & do the same thing.
I should listen to my own advice a bit more often:p:eek:

Buying Johnson, Brown and Pavlich at top dollar on the naive hope they'd fire like they did last year. No, wait, I saw that one coming and steered well clear. I did buy Ben Reid though. Biggest numpty move: relying on my stoner mates to set up a league. Got about half of them spread across two comps with a bunch of randoms, and no sign of the rest.

My stupidest trade for the year keeps haunting me so I thought I'd share.

My forwards were Grant, Brown, Lucas (I obviously traded him out and got Chapman), Richardson, Pavlich, Porplyzia, Harding
My Reserves were Rioli and Tippett.

Now a few weeks ago Leigh Harding got dropped (Round 4) and I panicked and traded him to Josh Hill. At the time Harding was $234,000 and Hill was about to explode with a nice break-even and his price was $218,600. So I ended up with an extra $15,400 in the bank and thinking I had the cash cow of the year.

Since that trade Harding come back into the Kangaroos team and has scored 114 and 112 and his price exploded from $234,000 to around $351,000. While Hill has scored 35, 38 and 48, went up to 284,400 and peaked at 289,700 before dropping to around $267,000.

The difference is almost $100,000 and a valuable trade that i really didn't need to make with Rioli sitting in the reserves!
