Jeffrey Farmer has been the most skillfull small forward in the competition since the late 90's. No one comes close to him in terms of on feild skill and consitency. He kicked 55 goals last year in Pav's shadow (71 goals), and was the most accurate player in the AFL for 2006, and he has a record 441 goals (Indigonous leading goalscorer of all time). For West Coast to compare Sampi to him is laughable and rele does prove how arrogant their club is. They already have the best Midfield player in the league, and now they say they've got the best small forward in the league aswell. I think that they can't stand the fact that their rival club has the best small forward in the league and not them.

So what, you've probably got the Korean leading goal scorer of all time as well, what has that got to do with anything unless he was the leading goal scorer of all time in the AFL, it means jack.

FFS I'm sure we can find a leading goalscorer for most nationalities that have played the game.

Whilst on the subject would I be right with Jim Stynes as the leading Irish goalscorer of all time?

Did they actually say that they have got the best small forward in the league as well or are you just making that up.

You should know that Linga is not simply a West Coast troll - He despises West Coast far worse than some of your fellow supporters and anything posted by the whackjob should be treated with a little contempt.

Well of course this all overlooks one Phil Matera who was a substantially better and more productive player than Jeff Farmer.

In 221 games, Farmer has averaged 1.99 goals a game v Materas career average of 2.17 goals a game. Matera would be 40 goals ahead from the same number of games. Matera is indigenous.

In Materas last 6 seasons before cut down by injury in 2005 he managed to kick more than 40 goals in 5 seasons (31 in the off season). Farmer has managed 40 goals just twice in the last 7 seasons.

Matera was a much more reliable player than Farmer who has had spectacular seasons 76 goals (in 2000) and 55 goals last year but around those years, totals of 32, 29 and 27. This season already looks like a 30 goal season from the Wiz given his prolonged early absence.

Matera was also an AA player in 2003. Farmer in 2000.

The assertion that he is clearly the most skillful and CONSISTENT small forward since the late 90's is flawed.

By the way, freo arent anymore "our rival club" than the other 14 teams. Its only you guys with your little brother syndrome that are so concerned about beating us.

:)

Finals flop phil couldn't kick goals when they mattered.

How many forward pockets have starred in sides that were flogged by 10 goals?

Phil never played a final with West Coast after 2004 (when we were a young side getting bounced in the first week of finals for a 3rd consecutive year).

I suggest that a fit Matera might have made a bit of difference in the 2005 finals series.

If you really reckon Jeff Farmer is a guy to rely on under pressure then all the best. Reality is, he is hot and cold and generally unreliable.

And he gets stupid suspensions.
