Motion controls seem the only bummer. Especially for those of us who mainly use it as a handheld. Stupid stubborn Nintendo

The scale of the 'sand' level was impressive. Played around in it for an hour and realised that there was an entire section of the map I hadn't seen. The number of moons in each level suggests that I will never collect all of them.

The 'lake' level was okay but nothing special. The boss fights are standard Mario fare - each and predictable.

I'm not as wowed by the game so far as I was SMG. It's still a tonne of fun though.

I don't think so really. The Odyssey bundle is just a regular Switch with red dual-cons. If you really want the red dual cons, yeah it's worth it I guess but I've always thought coloured controllers are a bit of a gimmick.

I generally think it's better to wait for ebay sales. I picked up a regular grey Switch on an ebay sale for 15% off for $390.

Just picked it up at Big W Doncaster, guy there said they had heaps of copies but it was still flying off the shelves, they were selling a copy every 15 minutes or less and expect a big rush after work hours.

Yep. Got mine at Big W too, great price.

Pro tip for new users: Immediately go into the games settings and set right stick camera to fastest and motion controls to fastest.

Makes it soooooo much better. The default settings are way too slow.

3 or 4 hours in, finally up to Metro Kingdom. Certainly very easy, but that's to be expected. Can't imagine how many moons I've missed already, but I won't have any problem backtracking through these worlds .

I'm not big fan of motion controls but sometimes they work really well. Take the gyroscope controls in Splatoon for example. I hated them at first but after a few hours I got used to it and now I wonder how I ever lived without them.

Don't seem like a good idea in handheld mode. At least make them optional.

As far as I can tell, it's mostly directional based stuff like throwing Cappy directly up or down.

You can throw Cappy up or down? Is that something that gets explained in the game or do you have to discover it yourself?

I like the graphics, seems a bit too basic thus far. But give me another hour or so there will be a platform element that is simple.... but I'm too unco to be able to pass it

If you really can't stand going into a menu to toggle an option off please for the love of god don't ever take up PC gaming.
