All that shows that Richards @ 25 year of age (nearing his peak age) can only manage an average of 15 possesions while playing on the 2nd or 3rd best forward.

Garland is KEY POSITION, 20 and played on the best Full Fowards all year in a sh1thouse team with a sh1thouse midfield. His stats are only a couple of points behind Richards, not that i judge defenders on stats alone.... Garland with adequate support around him can only get better. Would you put Richards on Fevola or Franklin? Richards is servicable, thats about it.

Is Melbourne anywhere near a premiership? Would Richards even be around when they even challenge for top 4(Probably not)? Garland would be.

Richards usually gets the FF and then C.Bolton gets the CHF and for a defender to get 15 possessions a game is pretty good. Also Richards had the most marks of the Swans with 154 and Cameron Bruce lead the Demons with 147. Garland didnt lead in anything.

Sure Garland played on the best FFs all years but his team finished last. Melbourne had 376 goals againsted them, as well as 346 points compared to the Demons 234 goals and 225 points. Surely a few of those must have been blamed on the player who "played full-back all year" in Garland.
