I would think Ebert could play 10 to 15+ games if he's as good and as ready (physically) as every is saying. Selwood not as many but i would think he would make a few 22's as well this year. Both will def play 3+ imo so they will be good value making players on your bench if nothing else.

Barring injury, certain to play plenty of midfield time and will be kicking the ball a high percentage of the time IMO. He is one of two Eagles in my DT.

Disagree. I think he will play majority up forward still. I don't think theres been sufficient evidence yet for either case, so its hit or miss, and he could be good if you are willing to take that risk. But I am a more conservative player, if your risks dont pay off you get yourself into trouble.

I rate Nicoski very highly...however was very concerned with the fact that he didnt play the practice match against Collingwood after a well below par performance against Freo.

I know he is fresh back from some injuries and may take a few to get back into the swing of things....but at his price he seems a must buy considering how good he is and due to a few big names out of your side.


So questions are...

is Nicoski in your starting 22 from round 1 and if so how will he play?

It concerned me that he played against Jeff Farmer one on one. Will he be used against the small forward? If not, who will do that job...surely not Waters? Small defenders would average 50 at most if they are taking on the Jeff Farmer types...but i cant see Nicoski in this role, he is a run out of defence type in my book.

Nicoski v Hurn?....im expecting Hurn to be a real go to player considering his huge boot...but i think he still drifts in and out of games a bit and isnt a huge ball winner at this stage.

I would compare Ebert to Gibbs in 07, similar size, great disposal and decision making, has time when he has the ball and is a natural footballer but not a great athlete and definitely not ready for the midfield

I would think he is in the team for round 1 but it's extremely rare for a first year player to play more than ~10 games for the West Coast in his first year

they have a very structured development program and the first year there is a massive amount of work that goes into building core strength in order to lay the foundations of the first 3 seasons in development

I would be picking 2nd and 3rd year players because of that

McNamara, Hurn, Rosa & LeCras are the only <22 players i would go for

He's injured at the moment and we usually make them play a couple of games in the WAFL before making the senior side... Spangher would be a safer bet for the first half of the season IMO.

1) sam butler - training? likely to play any time soon? still cut down with OP?

2) macnamara - a realistic chance at round 1 on preseason form?

3) ebert more likely to play seniors early than masten?
