Honestly, just on this year ALONE, knowing that Ablett has missed games and had a bad form patch prior to last week, I'd say Swan just. That doesn't mean he's a better player, but I think he's had the best year of the four, and isn't as far behind Ablett and Judd overall as many would think.

Ablett is the best player in the comp no doubt about it , check his stats for this year and there is not many games where he has not had 30 plus with one sometimes two taggers , he has been down for a couple of weeks and playing injured through some games, he was backed in too near even money for the brownlow around round 10 .

As a punter i think that he has the biggest say in who wins this years flag , if he fires he will drag his cats with him , if he has an ordinary finals then bye bye cats .

OUR MAN Swan has had an enormous year but he does not get the attention of ablett or judd for that matter .

Swan reminds me of Paul Kelly, head down over the ball and gets it out. He did it in 2007 and not as much 2008 (although still got run with stats) This year he is the ball getter and the umpires love that stuff.

Reminds me of Rob Harvey. Is set to break Harvey's record season disposal count.

Went with Ablett.

Don't like the brand of footy he's playing (or has been told to play) in recent weeks, but his talent cannot be denied.

Ablett and Judd are pretty close to me so it could be either tomorrow. Ablett is less taggable, but both beat their taggers msot of the time anyway.

Swan would be next, purely because he hasn't been as damaging a player as the above two. However, he has most definitely elevated his game within the last couple of months to what I perceive as being on those guys level as well. The challenge is to now sustain it and comprehensively beat number one taggers week in week out for the entire game.

Dal Santo a really good midfielder but doesn't fit into this comparison in my opinion. Hayes is the best saints midfielder and probably the best one in the country.

Judd got Matt Thomas this week, Ablett got Kieren Jack.

I believe thomas had judd for the first quarter, and from the second quarter onwards it was kornes.

19 possessions i believe (port is the team he averages the least amount against), but still had a couple damaging ones.

In the end though, both did a good job on him.

Too bad our team overall was crappy on sunday...

Agreed. Although this week he was back to his best, in & under packs, breaking the lines. He had 8 clearances, 6 inside 50's & 15 contested possessions. When he's playing like that he's a step above.

Agreed. But he doesnt do it enough. Ablett at his best but on 2009 form, Swan wins.

Leads the league in assists and scoring involvements. Not damaging enough?

That's only counting 2009, and isn't counting finals yet...

This year, yes, he is one of the best, and the amount of damage he has caused has really stepped up in the last 2 months I feel.

Who were the SEN people saying they'd choose?

Ablett. Been absolutely spectacular at times this year and won games off his own boot for us. The guy completely went under the radar for his performance in Rnd 17 v Hawthorn, despite getting 33 touches, 7 inside 50s and 11 contested possessions!

Swan averages 33 possessions, 11 contested possessions and 5 inside 50s per game.

Judd and Ablett at there best shade Swanny, but at the moment he is easily the best out of the 4.

Look no further then the Age and Herald Sun player of the year awards, he is leading both.

Judd is the best then swan and ablett. Dal santo is an intresting one he has had an awesome season and is top 10 for mids in the comp easly after this year. I think out of them all dal santo has the best foot skills and we all know he has the potential to be as good as a judd. I voted dally purely because a saints supporter but judd is the best and will finish his career the best.
