Swanny is my favourite player but if we were to trade him I would be happy if it was for Boyd essentially.

But I'd be surprised if GWS were that stupid.

I don't want Swan traded either, I think it's important for club champions to end their career as one club players. But Swan in 2014 is no where near as valuable as Ablett in 2011. He is 29 I think, probably 2-3 years left and would get no more than an early 2nd round pick.

If Swan is mentally up to it i think he could spend a few years as a fwd bfr hanging them up.

that's it anyone that posts links to this horseshit facebook site should get banned.

painful reading trying to come on this forum and i have to read some 12 year old sitting behind a computer claiming he is in the know when it comes to trade stuff.
Hey! Watch what you say about me! By the way, I turn 13 next week!

If we even considered this, it would have to be a straight swap, no extras, and definitely no extra first round picks or decent footballers thrown in.

Yes Swan may only have 2-3 years left BUT HE'S DANE FRICKING SWAN, a number 1 pick isn't really enough for him IMO, I'd want both their first round picks.

And yes, I know in the current environment GWS would not agree to that, but if they want anything else other than Swan for pick 1 they can go and get stuffed.

It wouldn't be a bad deal for GWS.

It'd get some experience into their side, which they're looking for. Swanny is a versatile player, he can pretty much play anywhere except KP and ruck. He is in good form and there are no injury concerns.

It'd give them a high profile player too to help with the publicity - I couldn't think any other player in the league who would be better publicity for them (Buddy, bah!)

It would also mean that me and Swanny could hang out up here in Sydney ;)

I don't see why people think that a trade is not possible.

Swan is a Brownlow Medalist with a sturdy body. Boyd is a draft prospect who already has a significant injury due to his large frame. Given they already have Cameron and Patton, GWS might have some doubts about Boyd and be willing to trade for a big fish.

Injury details below.

Boyd ruptured both his lateral ligaments and suffered some chipped bone in the ankle during Vic Metro's third game of the under-18 championships, when he landed awkwardly against Western Australia after taking a strong contested mark.

Can't see it happening, no legit source.
Would hate to see him go but it could work out best for us if it were a straight swap.
We would have a huge salary cap.

Could go after Buddy.

From what I hear GWS has taken pick one is off the trade table but if you believe Brett Anderson from Inside Footy then Boyd could very well be on up for trade but would think it would take Brown, 1st rd pick & Swan
Get ****ed

yep lets get rid of a club champion, good way to develop a great culture down at collingwood.

something is definately brewing down there tho, to free up all this money i can see we will have a serious crack at someone. could it be martin, mumford, maybe franklin ? maybe we could secure daisy? [ doubt it ]
personally i want us to get 3 picks in the first 15 this year and let hine do his stuff.

that's worse than Daisy's injury!

You've got to be joking!

While we're talking about Swanny ...

Was anybody else peeved off about the commentary on Saturday night ... Any time the ball went near Swanny in the forward 50 (which was quite a lot) the commentator (BT?) sagely remarked "Swanny doesn't like playing in the forward line!"

FFS, what was that all about? Particularly given that Swanny was one of our better players on the night.

IMO that sounds ridiculous. GWS would be way over quoting on Patton. 2 proven (1 with a Brownlow) plus a high draft pick for a bloke who's done his ACL already. GWS must be on drugs.

So, in Western Sydney, 2.5 birds in the hand are worth 1 in the bush...

I thought Bruce was bad, but BT drove me crazy the other night.
Had to turn the sound off!
