Supercoach Round 3 SC Talk - Round 3 Trades ,//, AFL Fantasy Round 2 AF Talk - Round 3 AF Trades
Wilbur is averaging 7.7 disposals, 2.2 tackles. Way down. A small holiday in the reserves is in order.I sat next to a few Freo supporters who commented multiple times a lot of our guys looked hobbled/laboring/unfit/lazy (they couldn't figure out which but those were their various guesses.) I couldn't really unsee it after that. Swans players taking literally a year to get from defence down to the forward line, and vice versa. A lot of standing around in the outfield, straddling the line between holding their width and just plain coasting without wanting to be involved (though when it was time for them to get involved, they seemed to be giving their all - cracking in, defending desperately, being physical.)
As well as all the other issues that have been well-discussed but that I only got to see for myself in the flesh yesterday, I was reminded of just how far off our best I think we are. Yet we were 3 goals off the Hawks, a goal off the Lions, and arguably should've won by a few goals today. That's with all the injuries, too.
All things considered to be 1-2 whilst looking fiercely competitive in a scoreboard sense isn't a bad position to be in. Not great, but honestly... I'll take it.
I didn't quite see the clearance success that others saw. I actually thought part of the reason we struggled to maintain any sort of momentum was because every time we'd kick a goal, it'd go back to the middle and Freo would win it and take it down their end. But it was a good battle in the stoppages.
Of the so-called whipping boys like Hayward, Florent, Grundy & Papley, I think only the latter really did himself any favours going forward. Still not even close to where we need Papley to be, but much improved, and he had a crack. I actually don't care if a player is average whilst playing with an injury, as long as they do the best they can.
A lot of players had good-to-great games - Warner, Jordon, Rowy, Bice, Ladhams, McLean, Campbell, Wicks, Hamling, Roberts, Amartey, Warner Jr. and Lloyd. If you had said we'd be having any win with those names (Warner, Rowy & Lloyd aside) at any point this year, let alone one on the road in Perth, I would've probably fallen off my chair laughing. But I think it speaks to the overwhelming positive part of this somewhat underwhelming first month of the season - the depth we've been forced to build. Could pay dividends later in the season.
Go Swans.
And an honorary Norm Smith.55 disposals and 10 goals
Whatever the coaches were smoking when they gave Papley votes must be some strong stuff.Coaches Votes:
9 Josh Treacy (FRE)
6 James Jordon (SYD)
6 Chad Warner (SYD)
5 Jaeger O'Meara (FRE)
3 Tom Papley (SYD)
1 James Rowbottom (SYD)
By the North game this is the list;Going to say none, but maybe Logan/Mills they are the closest. Both Harry and Gulden are no chance.
Oh forgot Melican he'll be fit so there's one.

Not just Ryan but also Pearce. It was like Pearce was 3metres tall out there at timesI so agree and am sick and tired of this. Ryan had leather poisoning. Mind you where is Willy?

I blame the kick more than Heeney - should have hit him on the chest - game overA shocker by Isaac trapping the ball for freo with six seconds to go …of all the permutations it was the only one that could have sunk us
But all good …onwards
I blame the shameful cheating of Not 15I blame the kick more than Heeney - should have hit him on the chest - game over
Yeah, he's dropped a number of chest marks and is only laying 2 tackles per game so I'm not seeing this great pressure that others are alluding to personally. He's dropped a mark inside 50 every game so far.
There's not nothing to work with there but he's one of the first to go out.

For sure but he has done well to play a few games this year, that's a win already
Hayward has been utterly putrid all season long
Like almost all new players, we got a bit of shiny new toy syndrome & sung his praises after 1 or 2 games, then reality hits & it takes a while to figure out if they really “have what it takes”.
Hanily was quiet yesterday & might find himself back in the 2’s if Cleary comes in.
But there’s definitely something to work with.
If Melican, Hamling, Mccartin and Rampe all fit who plays ? I don't think Hamling should go out.
I still prefer Mccartin back, but that's me .
Hamling would go out. Harsh because he played very well, but the others all have the runs on the board.
I think Cox will use Tommy Mac at both ends of the ground, depending on what he sees the need of the week is.

Sir Dane goes out.
And he is my favourite player.
He plays if one of the other three are out or McCartin is needed forward.
Believe me, I will be hating myself for saying so.Sir Dane out?!?!
