Wouldn't shock me if we win this one.

They only have the 5 day break and need to travel. Whereas we have the 6 days and can stay comfy at home.

Carlton down on confidence after failing to get revenge on Collingwood.

Carlton haven't been overly impressive at all. Not sure why everyone talks them up so much.

In fact the more I think about it, the more confident I feel.

I for one would be happily but deeply shocked.

Getting flogged by the Norf mids signals yet again we are running a C grade system with B grade players

Depends how badly Carlton want the win.

I personally believe North wanted that win real damn bad, which made us look worse than we were. They probably even wanted it more than we did. Look at how well they played last year against us when we were full strength. I'll bet Clarkson spent the off-season specifically training the squad to counter Longmire.

Mills freshly missing didn't help matters. Parker really needed to step up to replace him. Now with a weeks experience without Mills, we should settle. Hopefully they'll train for it and adjust.

I think we'll surprise all the naysayers and go into the bye happier.

Excited by the prospect of seeing my boy Wicks back in the team. His opponents bloody hate him for whatever reason.

It would be our best win of the season by a mile.

They destroyed us in a quarter of football last time we met.

Carlton have lost 5 of their last 6 games.

People talk so much about our mental scarring from the Grand Final. How about them missing the unmissable finals series? All they had to do last season was win one of their last 4 games and they choked big time. If people wanna slam us from having the yips then in the same breath why doesn't anyone talk about Carlton shitting the bed? All I ever hear is how great they are.

As for the match being dominant for one quarter against us, from memory, weren't the umps heavily favouring them? Didn't we only lose by 15 in the end? Didn't we storm back into the match in the 2nd half? They were red hot last season coming into our round 10 game whereas we limped in?

Also didn't we just destroy them in a practice match two months ago?

Our biggest win of the season if we win this? Perhaps. But we have a pretty low bar when we've only won 4 so far. To me personally, this should be just a run of the mill win against a very average opposition who proved nothing last season and yet to prove anything this season.

Will be a tough game, I think similar to North game.

Two teams badly out of form relying on intent and effort more so than systems and structure.

As long as we can competently cover Curnow, eg 3 goals or less and minimise his influence in the air, somewhat optimistic of heading to the bye with some momentum.

5 day break for Blues and travel a factor.

Until this week where the two most disappointing teams of 2023 play each other to keep their season going
Reckon we get done by 40+
Make it 70+ if Parker is out.

We can't have the kind of midfield set up/performance we saw last week against a competent team and expect not to be thrashed.

I come in peace.. heading up to sydney with my daughter for the game... whats best pub near the ground to have a few jars and a feed before the game ?

Haven't been in years but if you walk from Central Station this is on the way. Competitive to get a table, but if you get lucky Mexican food and beer is hard to beat IMO.
Hipster graduate crowd might impress your daughter. :moustache::cool::dress:

If you can swing $10 on an uber after dinner this is nice old school pub in a nice area, not far off.
